Sure, I can give a few tips... but I should warn you I'm not a captain of any sort, not even a crew member. But yeah, as for tips I can only recommend playing a character that is realistic. In fact, never think of them as a character but as a human being, they get exhausted in battle, they get hurt, they even need to eat and sleep. This person you are telling the story of is worth telling, trust me. My characters are very basic people starting off as just "that awkward pilot guy" but reading the flashbacks you see hes getting more and more fleshed out along the way.

As for your character, I can say hes a very talented character despite the burns he is a professional, he should act like one. But don't forget this is a comedic RPing guild, he can have a few smartass lines here and there. But don't let me tell you how to play him, you are not the writer, you are the character's very mind. How would he react to various events? Just play it as you would if you were in those situations.
