Whoa, now, Mister Stark, you can't go and change major events like that! There's no telling what reprocussions that may have on the future, aka your present! Say you change it so that Godzilla is sent away to a planet millions of lightyears away, and he reigns fiery death on all that are alive in reach. Then, years later, he returns to Earth, a pet of these people, and razes your world to cinder, and those innocent people whose lives you inadvertently destroyed now call Earth their home. See how bad that would be?

Well, it IS only a DeLorean. And when I say "5 miles", I mean you can move, in a controlled fashion, in a 5 mile radius of wherever you want to end up. Say you're going to Tokyo during Godzilla's first rampage, with the capacitor's intake percentage changed by 113%, you can now be within wherever you start from, plus have the room to move 5 miles away from where you are. Its a bit more complicated than just moving said DeLorean those 5 miles and ending up in that exact spot, but time travel can sometimes be a tricky subject.

Sorry, Mister Stark, you can't simply expect me to hand over the key to the TARDIS. You think I didn't get asked that by Churchill? He's stolen my keys at least a half dozen times. He is a friendly old man, though. Can't blame him for trying.
Just stick with a DeLorean, and set the flux capacitor's intake drive to 113%. Should get you, I don't know, about 5 miles from where you are supposed to land.

Ah, DeLoreans. Use a flux capacitor once or twice, and you really think you're time travelling. C'mon, man, it can only go forward and back in 1 spot through time and space. Now, if only you could go anywhere AND anywhen you wanted.

Yup. TARDIS: Time And Relative Dimension In Space. Goes anywhere and anywhen in the universe, from the Big Bang to the End of Time. Though both are cutting it a bit close. Only time and place it can't go is the Doctor's homeworld of Gallifrey, which is time-locked. Great big Time War and all that. Not fun.
