Fatherhood by Delven: The expression I really can't put words into. The joy of happiness that is a blessing in disguise. I really can't express this enough. I really can't. It changes you. It really does. Believe me. It makes me so numb. To the people that knows me in person knows I talk a lot; but with moments like these, there's nothing to describe it.

August 31th 2005: Delven & I met at his former college in Michigan as a librarian where I was working part time. He asked me where this government book was about Thomas Moore. I pointed it out where. But he insisted that I take him to look for it. I didn't know he was trying to make a move on me at the time. I thought he was just being a jackass honestly. Also, I thought he was all ready taken. So he smile at me and said thank you then asked me if I were a drinker because I would be happy to buy you a drink later tonight. Oh. The funny thing was he noticed my hair was dyed blond and he didn't like and told me to go back to my natural hair color, "You know, Delven don't like blonds miss." That's what he said and wink at me and walked away. Later that evening when he picked me up on now trashed wrecked 1998 Chevy was surprised to see me with a child he asked, "Are you babysitting?" He could of easily got mad, but I at the time I didn't know he has IED and he was on his meds. So, I was honest and told him it was a child from a previous relationship. Delven looked at me in a bit of shocked and question me on my age. I lied there and told him I was 24, (Delven was only 18 at the time). See, at the time my ex boyfriend left me after my daughter was born because doctors we're saying she didn't have much to live and so forth and moved back to Wisconsin. Delven looked at me and took the time to be a father more and question the child more than about me. My gosh, when I saw him with my daughter, he was such a natural. I've asked him before if he have ever been around kids, he said yes and just loves them. I think this when I really fell in love with him. Still I felt bad for lying about my age where I was really 34 at the time. So Delven said we could just stay at home and get to know each other better. We did. He told me things about him. I told things about me and my real age. He laughed and said, "That's okay. I like older women. Your wrinkles on your neck gave it away anyhow." We laughed. Drank some wine. Watched Napoleon Dynamite. Gosh! Lol! Yeah, we we're a little drunk watching it. So, I told him I'd give him his number if he memorized it. Shockingly, he did. So, the rest is now history. And that is how I became, Mrs. Ashley Mariotti.
