"True as that may be, I wouldn't have gotten this far without meeting Rin.", Sesshomaru answered.

Glancing to the board near him, he nodded, and flicked his eyes back to InuTaisho.

"I can see that and I know it's because you nearly ended up hurting a newborn.
Didn't I tell you to pay attention to your surrounding AND that you should never throw anything at someone that's injured?", He asked, crossing his arms and raised a brow at him.

Kagome was watching closely and it seemed to just hit her, who this new person was.
Her eyes widened and she asked in shock, as she pointed at him.

"Are you InuTaisho's father?!"

Looking to the miko, he smiled kindly.

"Why, yes, I am.
My name is Kazemaru.
I've been imprisoned in that statue for some time by someone I thought was my friend, so I've been unable to go home or even see my son all this time...."

Kagome felt terrible for him, but she then added reassuringly,

"You'll be able to reconnect with him now though.
After all, he's in the same boat as you, being as we tracked him down just so he could see Sesshomaru again and know the truth about Inuyasha.
This may sound strange, but are you really a demon?
Your power is incredible and it feels shockingly pure."

"Ah, lovely, caring, thoughtful, AND keen I see....
I am actually a kami (god), though I do take on a giant dog form, just like other inuyoukai do....", Kazemaru explained, before looking to InuTaisho.

"She's certainly a keeper, so you should consider holding onto her.
I like her...."

Kagome ended up blushing, feeling rather flattered that he saw so multiple good points in her so quickly after meeting, as well as approving of her.

"She's correct...
Sango is the one next to me and she's a demon slayer.
Just because someone sits close to me doesn't make them my mate.

Kagome has done the same before as have Miroku.
Miroku was the monk that showed you the pup etched from pure crystal, which was probably why it was stolen from this shrine in the first place.
Kagome is the miko that's beside you.
Her medicinal medicines are not only unique, but seem to be rather powerful and she's also rather talented at cooking.
The various foods she's made up to this point are like nothing I've ever laid eyes on before..."

Motioning over to where Miroku had been, he added,

"The little kitsune is Shippo and the imp is my retainer named Jaken.
Ah-Uhn is outside, which is why you don't see them.
As for the twin tail on Sango's shoulder, she's her battle companion named Kirara."

Taking a breath and laying a hand on his bandages, he finished up,

"Rin I had adopted, after being struck with the Wind Scar for the first time.
She turned out have absolutely no fear of me, even when I tried to scare her off out of instinct.
Tsukihana is the newborn that Sango's holding and we took her in because her parents and newborn siblings had all been skinned alive and then burned to ashes out in front of this shrine.
The one reason she survived was because of the man inside the statue outside and person responsible for this was someone that used to work under you.."

The look on his face said he had more to tell, but just a few seconds later said man entered the shrine because now he had been restored to normal, making him no longer transparent.
He quickly looked around and put two and two together, when he saw the boards and where they were pulled from.

"Did you REALLY throw those at him?", He asked InuTaisho, as he pointed at Sesshomaru.

Sesshomaru quickly covered his face with his remaining arm and yelped from being struck.
When he lowered it, he quickly grabbed it and threw it back at him.

"That's for not heeding your own advice about paying attention to your surroundings.
I have a newborn laying next to me and you could have struck her by mistake!
Besides, I agree with Inuyasha on this one.
Hitting me when he's asleep is a dirty trick....and I know a LOT about foul play, unfortunately...."

Looking to Inuyasha, he started to brush off some of the rotted wood that stuck to his haori.

"Are you alright?
Even though it'd be best to tell him right away, I still feel like I should have kept my mouth shut.
I'm sorry, you had only just gotten to sleep..."

Shippo's tail puffed and he looked up at Miroku.

"Hey, Miroku?
I think you should put that crystal pup where it belongs on the statue outside."

Poor Tsukihana seemed to be rather scared from the boards hitting so close to her location and started whimpering loudly.

Ryuu-no-Taisho

"You're welcome...", Kagome said, with a happy smile and a shy blush.

After all, it wasn't too often she got such honest praise.
However, when she saw Sesshomaru's expression in response to InuTaisho's words, she bit her bottom lip, feeling bad for him.

"That's.....not what I meant......", Sesshomaru said, uncomfortably.

Taking a breath, he then decided it would be best to get it out in the open, rather than put it off.

"I've never had a mate, nor do I have one now.
Back when I had to meet Izayoi and get used to her, we had drinks prepared because it's common to have something available to make conversation easier.
I was so uncomfortable around her that I had far too much sake and didn't realize I was intoxicated, until it was too late.
She didn't have as much as I had because she has no tolerance for it, which is why it didn't take much for her to get the same way.
I don't recall everything, but I remember up under my haori and we were both naked.

I never told you because I was afraid to do so and it was only recently that I even found out Inuyasha's my son and not my little brother, like we both believed.
It took me getting incredibly ill to even find out about it....
What I did to deserve it was the fact I tried to kill him to get the Tessaiga.....
We've tried to kill each other countless times after that incident as well.
This was now the second time I've been hit with the Wind Scar, though I honestly don't regret the first time.
It was how I met Rin, after all.....

Still, things have gotten better now.
I'm no longer poisoning or putting holes in him and he's no longer unsheathing his sword and rushing to attack me the instant he sees me either.
I will warn though, he's got quite the mouth on him, if he becomes pissed off...
You wouldn't believe the curses that would fly out, the moment he'd see me."

"Huh?
Oh, I'm okay...
I was just panicking to myself was all...
I know what Inuyasha's like, when something sets him off, so I was worried about how you'd react, seeing me sleeping on top of you.
Last night was so busy between the battle, taking care of both your injuries, making sure the bloody clothing would be clean when the two of you would regain consciousness, getting dinner ready by the time Inuyasha comes back with a poison antidote from Jinenji's farm, and making sure you wouldn't hurt yourself, when you had that nightmare.

I guess I just pushed myself too hard....
After all, all my power just flew to the surface, when I grabbed on to you, and it purified the dark priestess's spell she had over you.", Kagome explained.

Looking up, Sesshomaru nodded, but then added,

"It was also my own choosing....
The dark priestess that was controlling you like a puppet had ordered you to kill Inuyasha.
I had gotten in front of both attacks, being run through the abdomen with your hand and therefore poisoned, as well as when she tried making you use the Wind Scar on Inuyasha.
He's a bit scuffed up and bruised at best, but that' mostly from the debris hitting him.
The severed arm though wasn't your doing......That was my son's....."

Sesshomaru managed to carefully craddle the bowl in the blanket the covered his lap, before he picked up the spoon and began to eat.
It admittedly felt rather strange going down, being as he had a large hole in his abdomen.
Regadless of this, he managed to eat rather well.

"Thank you, Miroku.", Kagome said gratefully, as she took the bowl from him and began to eat as well.

She wasn't exhausted anymore, so she felt pretty alert and alright found herself thinking,

'I'm sure glad Inuyasha's sound asleep right now.
He'd probably never let me hear the end of it, if he saw me sleeping on top of InuTaisho like that....
Then again, still so hung up over Kikyo....'

"She's right...
I'm better off today....because of his help...
He's earned his rest....and I'm sure he'll wake up later....when he gets hungry.", Sesshomaru added.

He was able to sit up at the very least, but that seemed to be the most he was able to do.
Meanwhile, Kagome had a bit of a mental panic attack.

'He's still staring!
What do I do?!'

Feeling his gaze shift, she took the chance to sneak a peek and saw him watching Sango's treat Sesshomaru's wounds.
She momentarily bit her bottom lip, recalling all that had happened, during their encounter with the dark priestess.
Taking a breath, she then smiled sympathetically at InuTaisho.

"He looked much worse, after the battle, but he already looks a lot better today.
We're all glad that you're conscious and not being controlled by the dark priestess anymore."

"I'm....alright.", Sesshomaru managed, as forced himself to sit up and look around.

"The pain may be terrible.....but it was far worse last night.
I'm mostly...cold right now...", He then added, unconsciously shivering because his blood was soaking the bandages keeping his skin wet.

Kagome was next to speak.

"I'm alright, Sango.
He's just awake and found me laying on top of him."

A nervous laugh left the miko, still very much red in the face.
After all, she had no idea what InuTaisho could be thinking right now.
All she could focus on was just how bad that might look to anyone seeing such a sight.

Ryuu-no-Taisho

"Alright....
I'm sure that I'll have.....an easier time resting now....
Thank you....for you help, son..", Sesshomaru returned, shortly before falling asleep.

It wasn't long before he fell into a deeper sleep and he indeed managed to sleep well the entire night, despite the rest of his wounds.
He groaned softly, when the rays of light filtered in through the window and stretched across his closed eyelids.
This prompted him to groggily wake up.

When he had he could smell the monk making breakfast, while Sango was feeding Tsukihana her own meal.
Kagome was in the works of waking as well because she felt movement and groggily opened her eyes to find InuTaisho's golden orbs open and watching her closely.
This was enough for her whole face to flood with color, as she froze in surprise.

"You learn fast....
It puts such a strain.....on the heart and lungs....where the Wind Scar marks....are located.
Even so, healing them to any degree......will help my body store up strength to try......and heal the hole in my abdomen.
Where did she....leave her medical supplies?
The previous wrappings she used.....are now too soaked through to be of any use...", Sesshomaru answered.

Ryuu-no-Taisho

He hissed initially because it burned intensely.
After all, the first lick always tended to be the worst in these circumstances, before the body gets used to it.
His body relaxed soon after and he panted exhaustedly.

As Inuyasha worked on the Wind Scar traces, he could feel them starting to close more.
Though his pulse was terribly weak, it was in fact actually getting a bit stronger, as a result.

"The pain.....is getting worse.....
I can.....hardly breathe.....", He wheezed in response.

After all, now that he was conscious, it all came bearing down on him.
His wounds were incredibly severe and he had nearly bled out as it was from the poison coursing through him earlier.
The antidote had run its course, so now his body was weakly trying to shift its focus to healing itself, though it was going to be slow going.
Little did he know, that he had bled clean through his wrappings Kagome had spent a great deal of time putting together.

"We.....destroyed her?", He asked weakly.

Sensing that InuTaisho was indeed in the shrine with them, he was able to confirm that this must indeed be true.
Though it took him a bit to ensure everyone was present, he relaxed when he came to the conclusion that everyone had lived through the battle.
Remembering their little side mission, he then added,

"Make sure to.....remind the monk that.....the crystal pup is supposed....to be placed beneath the raised paw.......of the statue outside.
We did promise.....that we'd return it, if....we found it."

Unfortunately, he couldn't wait for a response from Inuyasha because the pain gripped him.

"UGH!!"

Thanks to his body reflexively cringing in response, he choked and blood rushed down the right corner of his mouth.

Ryuu-no-Taisho

It took a while for the medicine to take effect because even though he didn't get a full dose of the poison, he still had a fair amount injected into his body.
After everyone else had finally gone to sleep, save for Inuyasha, Sesshomaru's conditioned shifted.
He went from deathly silent to panting harshly, much like Inuyasha had, when the Spider Head had poisoned him, when he and Kagome met Nazuna, whom had a deeply rooted fear of demons.
It was clear that he was in immense pain, being as his mind was finally acknowledging it, though he still seemed to be unconscious.

Sesshomaru, though, fought against the darkness, preventing him from waking.
It wasn't until he started to feel a hand touching him that his eyes shakily started to open.
They only made it halfway, but it was enough for him to take in the blurry form of red fabric.

"Inu......yasha.....?", He rasped weakly, trying to verify the identity of the person sitting next to him.

"That's a great idea.
Thanks, Sango.

I'm sure Inuyasha will feel better, if he comes back to dinner being ready and a warm fire lit to keep them warm.
It might take a bit for Miroku to get the blood out of their clothing, so he'll probably be glad to be warm, when he comes back too.", Kagome answered, as she rummaged through her bag for cooking supplies and removed food from Ah-Uhn's saddle bags that they brought inside.

When everything was ready, she began to cook dinner with Sango.
It was hard to tell, how long she'd last because of the way her head was bobbing.
Never-the-less, she finished preparing dinner, with the demon slayer's help, before having to go back and soothe InuTaisho because he seemed to be having a bit of a nightmare.
It was something rather common, when wicked spells were used and then broken.

No sooner had she got him to relax back into a restful sleep, than she tipped over from exhaustion.
Her head was on his left shoulder and her right arm strewn across his chest, out like a light.

The old woman seemed relieved that the threat had been dealt with, before her eyes saddened at hearing that the one in terrible shape was his father.

"Don't you worry...
Our herbs will take care of him and he'll get better."

She then nodded in agreement, feeling bad for Jinenji.

"Yes, ma poor boy's afraid of other people for the most part, but he really did like that adorable little girl that visited us a while back, looking for Senenso Berries to cure a demon friend of hers.
She and Kagome were both good influences on him though and he does enjoy your company too."

When he was departing, she waved to him and added,

"Don't be a stranger now, ya hear?!"

After Inuyasha returned to the hut, Kagome was still thoroughly knocked out, so she had no idea he had returned.
Both InuTaisho and Sesshomaru were still unconscious as well, though it was to be expected with the way the poison was running wild through Sesshomaru's body and the release of the dark priestess's control combined with his own wounds had sucked all the strength out of the dog general's body.

Looking up, Shippo took a crack at explaining to Inuyasha,

"Kagome worked on them both non-stop.
She didn't even take a break, before moving onto making a fire and dinner with Sango.
She even had to help InuTaisho relax not long after.
He must have been having a bad dream....."

Ryuu-no-Taisho

Kagome wiped her arm against her forehead, as she worked on InuTaisho.
She was already rather worn out from handling Sesshomaru's wounds, which were bleeding profusely because of the poison, as well as their severity.
Never-the-less, she continued working, until all of his wounds were stitched, medicated, and wrapped.
The miko then cleaned off her hands and pulled the blanket over him for warmth.

"Finally finished...", She said with relief.

"Miroku, do yo want to help me wash the blood out of their clothing and get dinner started?
Their silks seem to be self mending, just like Inuyasha's...."

This caught the old woman's attention and she quickly grabbed a block of wood, looking ready for combat.

"Who needs a clubbin'?!", She exclaimed, already wanting to help punish the one responsible for hurting on of Inuyasha's friends, even though the battle was over and she wasn't familiar with the name 'Sesshomaru'...

Ryuu-no-Taisho

Once they reached the shine, it was rather difficult to safely move both of he injured demons into the confines of the shine..
However, they still managed, even without Inuyasha's help.
It was rather lucky that the shrine contained bedding and Kagome hurriedly spread out the fresh bedding on the floor, so they may both be laid down.

The miko then whimpered softly, when the removal of his shattered armor caused him to reflexively cough up blood, despite his unconscious state.
She then quickly set to work cleaning the wounds and bandaging them up.
His injuries were much too large to sew shut, unfortunately.

Kagome ended up spending quite some time taking care of Sesshomaru that by the time she began on InuTaisho, Inuyasha had reached Jinenji's home.
The old woman came outside and smiled, when she saw his familiar face and called back to the hut,

"Jinenji, come on outside, ma boy!
Inuyasha's come to pay us a visit!"

Ryuu-no-Taisho

Sesshomaru was virtually unresponsive to being moved, for the time being.
That alone didn't bode well...

"I think so...
Jinenji's farm has all kinds of different herbs.
I'm sure he'll have something that can neutralize the poison, without tampering with his own natural toxins.

First though, we should bring them both to that shrine you saw.
I can use my medical kit on them to treat their wounds, while you head for Jinenji's farm.
I'll need Miroku to stay behind to help move them, while I'm treating them because they're too heavy for me.
InuTaisho may have gotten roughed up rather badly, but I'm sure he'll be able to last, until I'm finished with Sesshomaru...."

Shippo was rather pale as he looked up at Sesshomaru and looked to Inuyasha, as he asked, looking rather spooked,

"He's not dead....i-is he?"

Who could blame the kit?
He had never seen Sesshomaru covered in blood before.

Ryuu-no-Taisho

Her eyes widened in sheer alarm and she shrieked,

'WHA.....WHAT IS THIS?!?!"

Before she had a chance to do anything else, she was drawn into the void.
This broke the spell she had placed on the Hihaikotsu, no longer making it a threat to everyone near it.
With the dark priestess gone, it was also good news in the regard that she couldn't reinstate her control over InuTaisho's actions and mind either.
When he'd wake, he'd be himself once more, though doubtfully have any recollection of what he's done....

Kagome took the ruby colored prayer beads from Sango and used one of her arrows to pry the three shards out of them.
Once they were out, she returned the arrow to her quiver and slipped the shards into her bottle that she generally carried in the pocket of her skirt.
Just as she looked up to Miroku to ask if he could help her move InuTaisho onto Kirara's back, she heard a faint moan and looked to find Inuyasha slowly starting to move Sesshomaru's unconscious form.

Ryuu-no-Taisho

The dark priestess cried out in pain, when she was struck and hit the doors of the shrine.
Gathering her bearings, she pulled herself to her feet.

"No such luck....", She hissed before she began chanting a spell that would make the Hiraikotsu fire itself off at the others, at complete random.

With Miroku's barrier in place, Sesshomaru had the chance to catch his breath.
He was clearly in great pain, but was doing his best not to let it get to him.

"Kagome's arrow....kept any more of his poison....from being injected into my body.
However....it's stronger than my own.....
If we don't....break her control....he won't be stopped....
She's deadly, now that....I know she can control objects....as well..."

Kagome suddenly gasped and exclaimed,

"Inuyasha!
That dark priestess has three shards!
Even though Tsubaki once had Naraku's portion of the jewel, this woman's a lot stronger because she knows how to use them!"

"That's correct!
Now, OBSERVE!!", She exclaimed, as she manipulated the Tessaiga and made it fly from Inuyasha's grasp.

It then shattered the barrier Miroku set up, as it flew to InuTaisho, caught the handle in his right hand.
He began to raise it over his head and Sesshomaru's eyes widened in alarm.

"MOVE MONK!!", He immediately yelled, before shoving him aside, where Kirara caught him against her side.

With him out of the direct line of fire, Sesshomaru then began close quarters combat with InuTaisho to prevent him from perform the Wind Scar.
However, his strength wore out because of the poison spreading faster and he was thrown like a rag doll with the side of the blade.
Raising the blade once more, he summoned wind to curl around the fang and sharply swung it down, releasing the power,

"WIND SCAR!!!"

Using the last of his strength, Sesshomaru sheathed Tokijin and leaped in front of the golden arcs of light to keep them from striking Inuyasha as intended.
In seconds, they tore into his already wounded body and blood flew forth from his left shoulder, chest, abdomen, and right waist.

"HA-AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!"

He was then launched back into the cave wall, right beside the exit, with a sickening crash.
His body slowly fell forwards from the large dent he had made, upon impact, and collapsed to the ground in a crumpled head.
Blood was running down the right side of his face as well, from the impact.

Kagome had been in the process of trying to strike the dark priestess with an arrow to distract her, but she screamed and fell onto her side, when Sango's weapon nearly struck her.

"FOOL!!
You think that will work on me a second time?!"

The miko could feel tears forming in the corners of her eyes, when she saw the look on Inuyasha's face, when he was about to be killed with the Wind Scar, only to see Sesshomaru protect him again.
Out of desperation, and because she noticed that InuTaisho seemed to be trying to fight it when Sesshomaru spoke to him earlier, she quickly got on her feet and ran at a dead sprint towards the dog general.
Lunging forwards, she wrapped her arms around him and cried out,

"STOP ALREADY!!!!"

In that instant, her powers rose to the surface and made her body glow brightly.
The light seemed to purify the control over him and his eyes slowly went to normal, before they rolled back and he lost consciousness, causing him to drag her to the cave floor with him.
Sitting up and panting with the exertion that had placed on her body, she called to Sango and Miroku.

"Sango, grab the ruby colored prayer beads from around her neck after Miroku seals her in place with his sutras!
The jewel shards are inside, so he can't use his Wind Tunnel on her, until we get them!"
