My sense of smell is being disturbed by the fever.", He admitted, as he scanned over the various trays that had been brought in earlier.

It would do him some good, if he had some medicine and something to drink in him, before falling asleep.
He could eat later.
Right now, he didn't really have an appetite and that was pretty much to be expected.

"I'm glad that we aren't fighting now.
Even so, I have to be thinking ahead.
Assuming we aren't slaughter by father because he's being manipulated, then this illness may due me in instead.
It seems to be gradually worsening and I cannot be certain if it is due to the multitude of issues we are being faced with all at once, or because one tends to become worse, before they get better."

He then had to stop speaking for a bit, when a coughing fit ensued.
After it passed, he continued,

"We'll have to cross that bridge, when we approach it, in regards to their reactions.
It's best to sort things out with Inuyasha first, that way, when you do inform them, you'll be able to answer any questions they may have.
I do not know what they will decide to do, after they are made aware of the truth.
Even though I have no experience with love, I am a strategist and I consider all my options."

Even so, you shouldn't be too concerned.
If you both manage to sort things out on who's going to be baring pups and one of you becomes pregnant BEFORE Naraku is brought down, I have a contingency plan prepared.
I was already taught by the castle healer how to conceal a pregnancy in both scent and appearance.
All it takes is for me to prepare a special medicine to conceal the visual evidence and a barrier set in place.
This will contain the aura of the litter, as well as their scents, while keeping them perfectly safe, in the event a battle breaks out."

He was perfectly calm, as he explained because he had time to think ahead on this particular situation and was prepared.

"Just make certain that you talk to him soon because it's never a good idea to drag something like this out.
Despite that, I'd like to know what you think about being a demon.
You'd both be on equal ground with the ability to carry pups though, since become a demon is the SIDE EFFECT and not the other way around, with this method.
I rather like the idea myself because he won't have to be alone, in the end."

Once they had departed to take care of the ogre problem, Sesshomaru turned his attention to the monk.

"What I wanted to discuss with you is that I had come to find out that hanyous actually have the ability to carry pups, regardless of gender.
Last night, I had the chance to speak with him and I informed him your secret.
He didn't take it negatively, so that's a good sign.
In fact, when he was telling me that you wouldn't be able to have any, if you both truly ended up together, he had appointed himself as the alpha in the relationship.

Since neither of us, know where you stand on the matter, I advised him to speak with you about it.
This can work either way, being as I know of a way to allow you carry pups of your own.
It is a method used for demons, so the side effect will be that you shall become a demon, though you'll still retain your spiritual powers.
I can't say how much your appearance will altered, but the kind of demon you will be, depends on who you are attempting to bind yourself to.
Being as it's Inuyasha, you'll become a full blooded inuyoukai.
This means you'll be able to remain with him and not have to be concerned with things such as old age and Naraku's poisonous demon insects.

I am immune to poison because my own toxins are far stronger.
The only way I can be affected is if I encounter one stronger than my own.
This is something that will end up applying to you as well.
Inuyasha wasn't sure what you would think of this possibility and I could tell that he was questioning himself on how much you love him.
After all, this is news to him....
Keep in mind that he knows nothing of how hanyous such as himself can carry pups already."

"With the exception of giant once that can easily climb mountains in a matter of moments, ogers prefer picking off travelers and those lost in the forest.
This could be the work of a jewel shard, to warrant such a strange change in behavior...
You should bring the miko with you, just in case if it is true.
Then she'll be able to locate it for you and make the job easier, as well as purify the tainted shard, when it's over.", Sesshomaru informed.

He didn't look to well because of his fever, but he was able to think clearly and hold a conversation.

"I agree...", Shippo added, from atop the hanyou's shoulder.

Kirara followed the group, while making sure he'd remain steady, as he made his way to the room the headman had chosen.
Ah-Uhn followed on the opposite side, for the same reason.

Once they were inside and Sesshomaru was laying down, Jaken removed the twin headed dragon's muzzles.
This allowed them to yawn widely at last and help pull the blanket over him with their mouths.
Uhn licked at his neck and the taiyoukai lift his hand to softly pet at his large head.

"Truth be told, inuyoukai and dog deities are nearly impossible to distinguish by appearance.
That is why some deities were actually hunted down, due to this misunderstanding.
Regardless of this, being hunted isn't what truly angers them, but rather having the inuyoukai that resemble them harmed.", Sesshomaru added, seeing no harm in giving him a bit of truthful information.

He then coughed into his arm, once another fit struck him.
Ironically enough, the wind chose this moment to kick up and cause a damaged branch to fall off a nearby tree.

"Do you think it'll really work?", Shippo asked, as some hope shone in his emerald green eyes.

"That sounds brilliant, Master Miroku!", Rin exclaimed, cheerfully.

"Hmmmmmm, that could very well work.
After all, the resident deity just so happens to be a dog.", Jaken pipped up.

Ah-Uhn nodded their heads in agreement, as Kirara walked up to Sesshomaru's side, ready to safely bring him into the village.

"It's risky, but Miroku's surprisingly skilled at deceiving people, for a monk...", Sango added, as Kagome nodded, due to her own experiences with him because the slayer had joined the party.

"Let's give it a shot then.", She said, adding her own two cents in.

He was surprised to hear those words leave Inuyasha's lip.
Regardless, it made him rather happy.
Taking a look around to ensure the others were still asleep, he leaned over and kissed the top of Inuyasha's head for the first time.
His eyes were gentle and warm, as he said quietly,

"Goodnight, son....."

The next day, everyone packed up and hit the road again.
Everything seemed alright at first.
However, when they were nearing a rather large village, which was great for restocking supplies because they had all sorts of common and even rare items to sell, Sesshomaru stumbled a bit and caught his balance on a tree beside him.
He then began coughing into the crook of his arm, as his face was becoming scarlet in color.

Kagome touched his forehead and worriedly looked back at her friends.

"He has a terrible fever!"

Shippo looked up at Inuyasha, from his perch on the miko's shoulder.

"Inuyasha, would we be able to get him into an inn at this village, assuming we can even afford a room?"

His question, though, gave the monk an idea.

"Take your time...
It's a lot to take in.
At the very least, you'll still have the kit and twin tail, in the end, so you won't really be alone.
....This is of course assuming we aren't slaughtered by father, in our efforts to free him and slay the dark priestess....", He concluded.

The battle would be inevitable and know one knew for certain what lay ahead in both their journey to reach the Valley of Ryuukotsusei and what sort of tricks she had up her sleeves.

"Try and get some rest, Inuyasha.
I will remain awake through the night, to watch over you."

"Technically, you'd be stronger because he won't know how to handle his new form right away.
It will take time for him to settle into it.
With the rate that you improve your strength, you could very well remain more powerful than him, though his abilities will be nothing to sneeze at....

We won't know, without asking him about it, now will we?
If he remained human, he'd either be swallowed up by Naraku's curse or die of old age.
Either way, he'd be gone in the blink of an eye, being as time is nothing to a demon....
Demons have a stronger resistance to curses, which is why it takes so much power to afflict one of us, especially if they are of substantial power and we are also much more resilient as well.
Wounds that would kill a human instantly, would merely require us to be treated and rest, so they may heal."

"I find that concept rather cruel because I'm all too familiar with it......
None-the-less, we do not know where he stands on the matter.
I think it would be best, if we found out whether or not he wants or is willing to be the submissive partner..."

His returned his focus on Inuyasha and he actually smiled at him.

"Currently, he cannot bear children, due to being a male HUMAN.
Regardless of this, I know of a way to enable him to carry litters himself, but there is one side effect you should know about.
This method is used on DEMONS to increase their fertility, so the monk will become a full blooded demon.
Being as you are the one he yearns for, he will become an inuyoukai, just a I am.

I can't say for sure how much his appearance will alter, but his spiritual powers should remain intact.
Naturally, he'll have to deal with all the different changes he'll undergo, such as heightened hearing, sense of smell, visibility even in darkness, new powers, and a true form.
I'll walk him through it, so it won't be such a strain on you.
After all, there will be times that things may seem overwhelming to him because of all the things he'll have to master.
Besides, you'll have enough to worry about, with how high his libido seems to be as it is.
It'll no doubt double, should he become a demon, since canine demons have rather staggering libidos."

"I know that you care about Kagome, as well as the priestess originally charged with guarding the Shikon Jewel....
Though things are already difficult enough for you to choose between them, I'm afraid the matter has now been further complicated.
They aren't the only ones that care deeply for you.
I know of another...."

He waited for a bit for it to sink in, before he continued.

"You've probably never considered this kind if relationship before, but I've discovered on my own that the monk has long since fallen for you.
I verified it, when I had told him that I knew of his secret and a brief look of alarm flashed in his eyes.
I've seen him watch over you before and even earlier, while you were still unconscious, he'd keep a close eye on you, while not making it suspicious to the others."

Sesshomaru golden eyes shifted to Miroku's sleeping form and they appeared a bit troubled.

"I may know nothing of love, but I am all too familiar with jealousy.
What will you do, now that you know the truth about the monk's secret he's been keeping to himself all this time?
His previous actions that grant him so much trouble are nothing more than a farce to keep suspicion away from him and probably to keep up appearances as well.
...I pity him..."

"That day, I had come to ascertain the reason behind why the scent of your blood had changed.
It held the scent of a full demon and I found it rather puzzling.
I had the sword forged by Kaijinbou, so that I could perform a test and see for myself what had altered within you.

After you abandoned the Tessaiga and I pushed you back with the energy of the blade, you had stood up, as if you were going to come at me, like you always did.
However, a few moments later, you slowly crouched back down again, as I was running towards you.
That alone was rather odd, but things became more unsettling, when the wind suddenly changed and you stared up at me.

I could only see one of your eyes and it was blood red with your golden irises having turned turquoise.
It was as if I staring death in the face, since you had been rendered no more than a mindless animal.
Totosai had chosen that moment to intervene and had turned the entire field into a barren field of flames, just before Kagome told you to 'sit' and they carried you away.

Aside from this, there is something else I need to inform you of.
It's going to be a shock to you, since I haven't exactly seen any indication that you are aware of this matter.
Since you're in your human form and the others are asleep, I find that this will be the easiest path to take.", Sesshomaru answered, before bringing up his next topic.

"Are you really alright?
When I saw you heading for the waterfall, I was honestly afraid for a while, just like when I first saw you transform.
That had been the day that I took hold of Tokijin for the first time.
After I had found away to get onto the river bank myself, I found that you were unconscious on the monk's back."

Sesshomaru began with what happened at the river earlier, so he could fill in the potential gap in his memory.
At the same time, it allowed him to let Inuyasha know that he had been worried about him.

Though Sesshomaru was beginning to feel the siren's song of sleep calling to him, he forced it away.
Currently, he had no intention of falling asleep, while Inuyasha was in his human form.
Sensing that he was still awake as well, he looked to his son, whom bore a strong resemblance to his mother on this night.

"Inuyasha, now that the others are asleep, would it be alright if we spoke?"

He wanted to take this chance to discuss some things openly and this would be the perfect opportunity to do so.
In the meantime, he waited patiently for his answer, as he gazed into the flames of the campfire.

Seeing movement, he looked to the monk, once more and nodded at him.

"This is something I came across myself rather recently.
I believe you will enjoy this bit of information rather greatly...
After all, I certainly found it rather intriguing."

While he did feel surprised to hear that he spoke so positively about his presence, he also started to feel a bit of pride swell up.
He then actually smiled softly at him.

"The monk does make a good point.
It's nice to actually be able to hold a conversation with you, without it falling into an argument.
Since you're being honest, I'll do the same.
I chose to humiliate that wolf, simply to entertain you.
Killing him would be counterproductive, being as he's an enemy to Naraku, just as we are...."

Recalling something important, he glanced at the monk, for a moment.

"Remind me to speak with you tomorrow.
There's something I believe you'd find interesting."

The taiyoukai was rather entertained with this little display.
He had to admit that the monk made a rather good point.
No one was infallible, in regards to forgetting something important.
After all, he most certainly was no exception, given that he forgot about his night of intoxicated passion with Izayoi, due to having buried the memory for so long.

Sesshomaru continued to observe the way the two tossed about with one another on the ground, before deciding to ask a question, just to see what his answer would be.

"Are you saying that you actually enjoy even MY company now?"

Sesshomaru was surprised by the gesture, but recognized it as well.
That's why he actually nuzzled Kirara in turn, once the initial shock wore off.
He was, in fact, an inuyokai, so this gesture shouldn't be too strange.

Looking to Inuyasha, he then said softly,

"I should be the one seeking forgiveness...
Had I known tonight would be the night you revert to your human form, I never would have asked you gather fish in the first place.
I am the one at fault for what happened...."

He then gave the monk a small smirk because he found Inuyasha's reaction to be rather amusing.
