Sesshomaru remained alert knowing just how dangerous this situation truely was, as well as how severe things would become, should they fail.
He then used the Tenseiga again, when they reacted the centered of the cave.

"There's a shine off to the right, but I still don't see anyone.
They may both be inside.
Even if it's only her, she needs to be dealt with to put an end to this...", He explained quietly, before entering the center of the cave.

Hearing the rustling of fabric, he looked up and sharply dodged, when his father dropped from the ceiling and attempted to lop his head off with his claws.
He sheathed the Tenseiga and drew the Tokijin instead.

"How do you like your gift?
I must admit, he's so obedient....", Came a lovely, yet evil voice.

Sesshomaru looked up to find the dark priestess exit the shrine to greet them..
She seemed to take great pleasure in watching him struggle to avoid InuTaisho's relentless attacks long enough to get a good shot.
Hearing running footsteps, she swung her index finger at the advancing Inuyasha and called out,

"Kill him, my darling!!"

Even though Sesshomaru seemed to be having terrible chest pain because of his illness, the moment he was given a break from the constant dodging, he ran at a dead sprint and just get catch up to him.
No sooner had the dog general raised his right hand back over his shoulder, than Sesshomaru got between them and took the blow for him.

"UGH!!"

His blood splattered onto Inuyasha and even with InuTaisho's hand being run through his abdomen and out his back with a loud hiss, indicating poison was used, he painfully lifted his head and grabbed his arm.
Pushing through the pain, he tried to snap him out of her control.

"Wake up....father.....
This isn't you....."

Though he did get InuTaisho's eyes to shake a bit, indicating he was getting him to fight back, he was far from free.
She still had an immense grasp on his actions and his mind, so he doubted his father would recall any of this, when it was over.

"No, you don't!!", Kagome called out and fired off a sacred arrow, which zoomed between Sesshomaru and InuTaisho, forcing him to leap back, drawing his arm out of his body.
The arrow then crashed next to the dark priestess, as Sesshomaru painfully pulled himself to his knees.

"I know this will be hard for her, but it'll be worse if she doesn't have any familiar scents around her.
Besides, we need to be down there to handle this situation as soon as possible.
Rin has fresh milk she can feed her, if she becomes hungry and she knows how to set up the bottle because she's been watching the monk.

Right now, he highest priority is entering the valley and surveying the area.
It shouldn't take us long to find where he dark priestess is hiding herself.
That doesn't mean we should avoid caution though.
After all, this is easily going to be the most dangerous battle any of us has dealt with, especially if he still possesses the Sounga.", Sesshomaru explained, before the barrier was errected.

He then guided them to the valley and looked around, before using his demonic aura to encase everyone in his orb of light.
This allowed him to safely guide them to the valley floor and the light receeded, upon landing.

Cautiously, he made his way to a nearby cave and unsheathed the Tenseiga.
Kneeling down, he slowly extended he blade and began moving it with care.

"He's using it like a mirror.
This allows him to safely look inside the cave, while avoiding detection.", Kagome explained, when she saw Inuyasha's confused expression.

Seeing nothing unusual, he sheathed the blade and entered the cave.

Sesshomaru nodded in agreement, knowing that they needed their sleep, in order to make time in their travels.
He laid down on his tail close to Tsukihana and closed his eyes, knowing Rin would curl herself up in his tail for warmth.
Soon, he was asleep and breathing softly, which gave Sango a wonderful view of his peaceful expression.

The next morning, the continued on down the path and in a matter of few short days, they had stopped at a safe distance from the valley, while still having it in sight.
Sesshomaru removed Ah-Uhn's muzzles and looked to Miroku.

"Alright, we're ready for your sutras to be in put in place.
Once we have Ah-Uhn, Rin, Jaken, Shippo, and Tsukihana secured behind the barrier, we'll be ready for the next step."

"Friends...."

When Sesshomaru said this, he seemed to be trying out the word on his tongue.
He never really considered the thought of having friends or what it would be like.
In fact, he didn't actually realized that he was in fact friends with them.

Even so, he had to admit hat she made a good point.
Inuyasha had in fact come a long way, since he knew all too well just how hostile he could be.
When he thought about it, he came quite a ways himself, since he went from intense hatred of humans to caring for the little girl, whom took it upon herself to try and help him recover, after he was struck with the Wind Scar.

"Unless by some miracle she finds you amusing, you'd be dead, before you could even blink....", Sesshomaru cautioned.

"While I may have often hid from her, when I was little, I absolutely no idea how to handle Izayoi.
I wasn't used the concept of loving mother and that's just the type of personality she possessed, the exact opposite of mine.
Mine is more along the lines of distant and capricious, for example.
My experiences of kindness were through father."

He then smirked slightly.

"Still, there's one thing that had utterly eluded me, until I began traveling with this group....
It seems clear now that aside from the fact he really did love Izayoi, he was also looking for someone that could be a better mother for me."

Hearing this, he sat up and attempted to cross his arms, only to shake his head in annoyance for his momentary lapse.
After all, he had but one arm, so such an action was pointless.

"If you're looking for someone to blame, blame my mother.
What I do is what feels normal to me...."

He let that sink in for a bit, before continuing.

"I'm certain that very little of what I do is truly normal.
However, I can hardly be faulted, if the things I do are because of what I've learned....."

"That's due to how I've had very little to be happy over, much less be entertained by...even when I was little...
I found that little display most amusing, to be honest.
That has to be the reddest I've seen you become, Inuyasha....

Besides, Rin is correct.
I would do so because I'd actually be eager to see where that plan would take me.
Aside from that, it's rather enjoyable to watch Rin play with Jaken and fish with him out in the streams."

You must have never seen one smaller than Shippo before, correct?"

Seeing how Miroku teased him, he found it to be an amusing sight.
Before he could stop himself, he started to laugh softly.
It wasn't long, before he could feel eyes boring into him and looked to his son and the monk, when he sobered up.

"Something the matter?"

Tsukihana smelled her big brother had come closer again and she licked the end of his nose, just like she did to Rin.
She didn't know anything of half-demons, humans, or even her own kind, so she had no issues with him.
As far as she was concerned, he was 'big brother' and that's all that mattered to her.

Her tiny jaw dropped and her tiny tongue curled out, as she gave the most adorable looking yawn.
Being as she was a newborn, she was going to need lots of rest.
After getting herself comfortable on 'daddy's' fur, she curled up into a ball and went to sleep.

Sesshomaru looked to Inuyasha and said softly, being as everyone was starting to settle down for the night,

"You certainly seem to like her."

"You both make an excellent point.", Sesshomaru agreed.

"Rin's her older sister, so it wouldn't be right for her to be her mother.
On the other hand, Sango's going to have the most contact, due to how she'll require the medicine every hour for a little while."

He was just about to ask the demon slayer if she could be Tsukihana's mother, so she could have someone to latch onto in that regard.
No sooner that he opened his mouth to ask, than she gave a positive response and his cheeks turned faintly red.

"Well, you certainly beat me to he punch, I see...."

He then made sure to eat his soup while it was still warm and Tsukihana licked at the end of Rin's nose.
She seemed to like her big sister and big brother equally.
When she felt the slayer pet her, she squeaked happily because she was getting attention from 'mommy'.

Kagome found herself smiling at the sight, before she spoke up.

"We should eat, before the food gets cold.
We've got a long journey ahead of us, even though we're almost to the valley."

Tsukihana's tiny tail lazily moved, as she was trying to figured out how to wag her tail already, in response to the nickname.

"You may be right, Rin.
Although, I think it's more because he's catching on finally that he has a new sister and starting to move away from the old notion of me being his brother.
Sometimes it takes a while for shock to wear off or to completely change the way you're used to thinking..."

He then reached up and moved his hand under Inuyasha's bangs, so he could check his temperature, hoping he'd snap out of it and say something.
That's when he saw something interesting.

"Well now, I never noticed THIS before...."

When he held his bangs up, there was crescent moon identical to his own hiding beneath his thick mass of silver bangs.

Tsukihana then squeaked something, he wasn't quite prepared for.
Sesshomaru ended up looking down at the newborn with a slightly startled look and he looked over at the miko, when he felt her eyes on him.

"What did she say?"

"Essentially, she's wondering where mommy is.
She's already familiar with mine and now Inuyasha's scents and is currently checking out Rin.
I haven't actually planned for this part, so I don't know how to answer her...."

"All the more reason that you are better suited to caring for her, until she no longer requires the medicine.
Being as this is the first I've heard of this remedy, it would be all to simple to accidentally overdose her."

Looking to Rin a moment, he followed her instruction and watched Tsukihana's interaction with Inuyasha, with amusement and interest present in his gaze.
He watched as she squeaked at Inuyasha, after she took in his scent.

"She's saying, 'Hello'.", He translated, being as he understood gestures, even if they were that of a newborn.

Shippo couldn't help but to smile, as he watched Inuyasha because he found this to be a rather entertaining sight.
It was also keeping him from being struck at a moment's notice as well.

"She's trying to find you because she caught your scent.
Her eyes won't be open for a while, so she'll have to rely on scent and sound, until then.
It's seems the medicine she was given is rather effective because she seems more alert now, than earlier.

However, she needs to be given it every hour for a day, two at most.
Apparently, it'll cure her..."

Looking back to the slayer, he then asked,

"Would you mind administering the medicine, when she's due for her doses?
I don't want to potentially cut her tongue with one of my claws."

"That's just the problem....
I know I've never met him before and yet somehow his presence is incredibly familiar.
What really strikes my interest is that he has the same markings.

When I saw Inuyasha transform for the first time, he had a sing set of jagged purple stripes.
This person had the same markings, but the aura I got from wasn't that of a demon.
It was something more intense, such as a deity or even a kami.

I believe this may be a long shot, but if we find that object and return to the shrine with father, so he can meet him, he might be able to identify him for us.
He did know things even I have no knowledge of...."

Shippo couldn't help but to laugh from what Miroku said.

"Good point, Miroku."

Tsukihana caught on to Inyasha's scent, no that she was a bit more perked up and squeaked, trying to find him.
After all, her eyes were closed and wouldn't be open for a while.

"Two day at the very most then?
That should be manageable.
After all, we won't reach the Valley of Ryuukotsusei, until three or perhaps even four days from now.
That all depends of how we manage our time and if anything comes up along the way.

What's most pressing is finding ways to get milk for her, any time that she gets hungry.
That cow seemed to given Inuyasha quite a bit of trouble.
Still, I'm glad he was able to find some.

At any rate, when we reach the valley, we'll also need to keep an eye out for a crystal pup.
It's a treasure that had been stolen from the nearby temple we went to earlier.
If t's returned to the statue, then the being trapped inside should be freed and we can hopefully find out who he is.
He was the one responsible for keeping Tsukihana alive, but his imprisonment is what prevented him from protecting the rest of her family, so he was only able to save one.
Somehow, I feel as if I should know him......."

"He's already stressed out enough, so I think it'll be best to leave him be for a while....
It was rather easy to tell with the way he lied through his fangs, when I asked about what was bothering him.", He explained, before hearing Sango's voice.

He watched her closely and gave the object in her hand an intrigued look.

"An herbal medicine?
I am not familiar with this particular one.
What does it do?", He asked, feeling his natural thirst for knowledge seize hold of him.

Shippo was watching closely as well and smiled brightly.

"Hey, I think it's helping!"

He was glad that she found it pleasing because it meant he chose well.
After all, even though it was typical for the father to choose a name, the mother often got to name the females.
In this instance, her family was murdered, which made Sesshomaru her adoptive father.
Regardless, he still required a female opinion because he had no mate to name her, in place of her biological mother.

Just as he was about to eat his soup, he closed his eyes and said simply,

"...Sit..."

That instantly earned him a startled yelp.

"Oh, that's correct.
That happens to be the trigger word for the beads of subjugation....
That was meant for the monk, not you, Inuyasha."

"I was wondering what you thought of the name Tsukihana.
She's in need of the name, so no one ends up saying 'it', when they refer to her.
After all her fur is moon toned like mine and despite her ill state, she does smell of flowers.", Sesshomaru continued, wondering if it sounded pleasing from a female's point of view.

While he waited, he made sure the blanket remained secure around her.
It wasn't long, before he shift his attention to Inuyasha and he asked softly,

"Is something wrong, Inuyasha?"

The little pup had difficulty latching onto the bottle because she was rather weak.
It was due to how she didn't have the opportunity to have her first meal right away, like she should have.
Gently, Sesshomaru nudged her to help her find the bottle and made sure she was able to drink the milk, before slowly licking at her tiny head, when he latched on.

Kagome soon joined Rin as well for a better look as well.
Her chocolate brown eyes saddened from both the story and her appearance.

"She looks premature....
I bet she was forced to be born, when her parents were attacked, before it was time...."

She then smiled softly and Inuyasha.

"I'm glad you guys were able to find her..."

After the little one was finished with her meal, Sesshomaru slowly changed back, making sure his tail remained expanded enough to serve as a large bed to keep her comfortable.
His gaze then shifted to the demon slayer and he asked,

"Would you mind if I asked you something?
I need a female opinion in this matter."

Looking to Inuyasha, Sesshomaru softly licked his cheek in gratitude.
It was also an effort to help heal the scuff mark that was also present, making it a great way to kill two birds with one stone.
Seeing him flinch, he sniffed around on him for any other scrapes he could take care of.

Once he was sure that he got them all, he looked to the monk, wondering how they would be able to get the pup to drink.
She was too little to lap it out of a bowl the way Kirara could.
His ears laid back, when the newborn started to give tiny squeaks that resembled whimpers and knew she was hungry.
He then gently nudged the monk in the direction of Ah-Uhn's saddle bags, having a feeling that perhaps one of the villagers may have added a bottle of sorts that could help them feed her.

"Hmmmm, I don't know...
Maybe he wants to give you space, so he wouldn't have to get so many dirty looks....
Then again, he's been spending quite a bit of time with Inuyasha.
I wonder if he might be scheming something or maybe he's just worried about how well he'll adjust to having Sesshomaru traveling with us and wants to make sure he's okay.....
If that's the case, I'm glad he's helping him adjust.", Kagome answered honestly, as she returned to the campsite with Sango, Rin, Shippo, and Jaken.

She couldn't help but to gasp, when she saw a massive dog demon at their campsite.
Initially, she didn't realize it was Sesshomaru, until she noticed the missing left foreleg and slowly began to relax.

"What's going on, Inuyasha?", She asked, feeling as though she was missing something.
