Stuck in the Grey Area
i've been living in Black and White
stuck in these shades of grey.
the World of Color so far from me
how can this be my destiny?
a rose i can smell
but cannot see
only half the beauty,
the rest is lost to me.
fading hues, no gloss, no matte
no pearl, no rainbow
not the slightest tint.
light on a crystal
just makes a glare
flat white brightness,
or a silvery glint.
a little grey memory
is all that is left for me
my soul has been sold
to the Shadowy World.
even my dreams have lost their spectra
never technicolor
just black and white sepia.
it's steering me crazy
and misplacing my mind
i'm not sure of anything,
not even the time.
i wish i could move back to before
to the beautiful World of Color
where i wouldn't be able to think
or even have an idea
of what life would be like
in the Grey Area.
