Yea, I'm a Labyrinth fanatic - it colored my whole life really. lol I watched Dark Crystal at least once when I was a kid, but I remembered not being as into it. I'll have to re-watch it sometime to see how I like it now that I'm "all grown up". lol

A Night at the Opera is a good album. 3nodding I love David Bowie too, but only because I saw Labyrinth before I heard his normal music. lol I believe I was 4 when Labyrinth came out so I didn't have much chance to know of him as Ziggy Stardust or anything. Good thing too! lol Now I like pretty much all his work... except for when he did the voice over on Spongebob. That was just creepy. 4laugh

Yep! Lots in common! blaugh lol Gotta love learning the metaphysical realm through intuitive practice. Groups and books are great, but nothing beats what you feel deep down. *hands you a cup of Moroccan mint black tea* This is so unusual that its good! Kinda like life in a way... lol

Woo! Yay for being alternatively healthy! lol Oooh... I predict we're going to have a lot of good conversations if you like energy working and shamanism. I could talk for days about the energetic signatures of rocks and minerals... and of herbs too really. But I won't bore you with that now. lol I'm a little shaky with the word "shaman" as I've met a few people offended by it, but I use it for lack of better description. I'm part of a study/journey group in which we do shamanic meditations, energy working, study of similar topics, etc. It's rather fun to practice with like-minded people not just because of the support you receive but because another person's perspective can be so different and eye opening. Most of the time, however, I love it when the perspectives of everyone in the group coincide. We journeyed for each others power animals a few times. The second time we did it, we all wrote down our visions and kept them all a secret until everyone had journeyed for everyone. Then we discussed it all - and many of us had the same animals appear for the same person. ^_^ I love when that happens!

As for reiki, I'm sure you have a grasp on it already if not the technical terminology and symbology. It seems to be a more precise, structured way of directing energy into various meridians of the body. If you've worked with opening the chakras, which it sounds like you have, then you'd grasp reiki immediately, I'm sure! 4laugh

That's cool! Sounds like a mixture of reiki, hypnosis and lifestyle changes? I suffered from severe anxiety attacks and agoraphobia for most of my teenage life and went on every pill they made with disastrous effects to my body when I came off of them. It wasn't until I scraped up the money to see a naturopath that I became well again. She had me take large doses of L-Theanine (an amino acid found in green tea) for about a month and then I never needed them again! No side effects. Amazing. eek It's like having a totally different life now. A friend of mine has been teaching me reiki, but I've only had my first attunement so far. I've also worked with crystal healing - which once you get past the new age stigma that plagues it, is really rather gentle and therapeutic. It also helps that I volunteer a lot at a rock and mineral shop. A lot of the customers there are very much into alternative healing practices.

So do you have celiac or just an intolerance? I lived gluten free for 3 months when my health suddenly faded big time last year, in order to give my system a rest, but I don't have an intolerance. I've been vegetarian (occasional fish maybe once a month or so) for about 7 years - another thing I think we have in common? The only intolerance I have is to spices. I can pick out one tiny speck of cayenne pepper out of a huge crock pot of soup. xd

Oh! I've never tried that! I'll have to look for it at the shop. Currently, I'm steeping some water for "Golden Monkey" black tea. It's $19 for 1 ounce (so I'm rather hoping I don't like it! I couldn't afford it otherwise! lol The tea specialist who owns the shop gave me a teaspoon full of it for a sample)

So are you in the natural medicine studies/job field? Or is it just an interest?

I heart black tea and a few greens and oolongs, but I'm game for herbal infusions as well - especially the mints. I just recently found a tea store out in the boonies of rural New Hampshire. Walls and walls of organic, hand blended teas and tisanes. I walked in and immediately heard Aladdin's "A Whole New World" begin to play in my head. lol Anyway! I'm rambling. It's nice to meet another fae out here. 3nodding

We have a bit in common! blaugh I *ADORE* tea (whats your fave?), beings of the faerie realm (go figure with my name and all) naturopathic healing and herbology, my favorite movie is first on your list, am rather crafty and love to write as well. I'm very much a nature girl and spend most of my time out in the forests of NH. 4laugh Would you like to be friends?
