MUSE = good thing to have an obsession with. Very good band. Very good new album as well...Starlight is one of the good ones.

I'm just some random person that saw your signature in a thread and decided to comment your profile. Be happy! =D

Okay. I am sorry about what I said about Grey's Anatomy. Now, I respect your points and I do accept the fact that people like different things. But you said it was shitty and I just thought that was a little too harsh.

Not just a giant spoon - - a giant PITCHFORK. Dipped in poison.

I love music to death, and have very strong opinions when it comes to bands and genres and so forth, but my true passions lie with films and political issues such as gay marriage. I get especially passionate when it comes to my favorite films - - RHPS you know perfectly well. As for music, I love it, I can't live without it, but if somebody hates my favorite band, I really couldn't care less. With my favorite films, I start interrogating them: "Why don't you like it? What movies DO you like? What do you value?" or whatever it is that comes to mind. However, when it comes to RHPS, for example, if somebody doesn't like it, I just feel bad for them - - they're missing out. It's sad. But I'm actually glad that RHPS isn't "mainstream" - - posers, ugh. There are already RHPS posers, which pisses me off. They love it because it's well-known or whatever. What bullshit.

But yeah, I can't stand people without opinions, so thankfully most of my friends have a backbone.

MOST of them.

Ew, pop is so gross. It makes me want to shoot something (and they said EMO music did that to you, ha. Well, they were WRONG!). Most of my friends love the same stuff as I do, too, which is always a good thing. At least my close friends do. My "circle of friends", if you will - - ah, the cliche, it burns! Alternative rock is really the only way to go, man. As far as I'm concerned. And, like you said, classic rock and some mellow genres. Alternative is my favorite, though, most certainly. I love finding new bands that aren't well-known. Such as Spoon. But the frustrating thing is that they played at the concert I went to, and now everybody's like, ZOMG, i luv spoon!!!!11 and it drives me crazy. ******** posers. rolleyes

Ahem.

Indie stuff is always the best.

I love the lead singer's voice (Britt Daniel, if my memory feels like cooperating today). And their sound is so unique, like you said - - I swear, their stuff ranges from Prince-y to old school rock to . . . I don't even know. I love them dearly. Oh, yes. I, too, love listening to alternative bands. Partly because I hate mainstream, well, everything (with some exceptions, of course). I would say my music taste is eklectic, but that's a lie, because I'm really picky about music - - I love alternative rock and that's what I mainly listen to. And also things I inherited from my parents, like regae, jazz, classical, oldies, gospel, and so forth. Okay, okay. I guess I'm fine with everything except for rap, hip hop and pop. I can't even sit through a two minute pop song, it makes me want to gag.

I guess my love of alternative and indie is just because I hate stereotypes and bandwagons. So, hello, my name is Lauren, I love indie music and my favorite movie is The Rocky Horror Picture Show - - if you think I'm weird, ******** you. That kind of mindset. But I get along with most people, so I don't really have that problem. At least, I never have to get drastic, ha ha.

Ugh, school. I'm not happy at all. The only good thing is that I get to see my best friends each day - - and we all ended up with the same lunch period. Compensation for the crap classes, I swear. But, you know what, I love them and they help me get through the year.

Yummy video from YouTube, first of all. heart

And secondly - - OH! I'm so glad you like Spoon! They're one of my favorite bands. For me, they're one of those bands where I don't even have to listen to the songs, as soon as they come out with another CD I'm right there at Borders waiting for my copy. The three CDs of theirs I have are Gimme Fiction, Kill the Moonlight, and A Series of Sneaks. I love them all, but Gimme Fiction and Kill the Moonlight are my favorites - - though some of my absolute favorite songs by them are on A Series of Sneaks. Mm. The funny thing is that almost nobody has heard of them, so I feel like I discovered something special.

I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Ha ha, that's funny, at first, I was like . . . uh . . .? And then after a while, they grew on me. I absolutely adore them. The great thing is, I bought Stadium Arcadium for my friend as a surprise, but that same day she went out and bought it, too, so I ended up keeping it for myself. And I'm terribly happy I did. It's a lovely, lovely album. And then a few weeks later, I saw them in concert. How amazing is that?!

Anyway, I need to go to bed. School is tomorrow, ick.

Go out and buy some Spoon, and quickly! Mush!

^.^

GASP.

You've never heard of Spoon? Well, we'll get you obsessed soon enough, my dear. I'm guessing you have the same taste as me (like EXACTLY the same taste, ha ha), so I'm sure you'll love them, too. Their newest CD is Gimme Fiction, which is excellent. Try looking up the song "I Summon You" or "Sister Jack". "I Summon You" is my favorite song of theirs. And I have all their CDs, so . . . I was so excited to see them live! I agree, anything live is awesome. Yay.
