Hacking would require you to actually go through the Gaia security system itself (whatever might be involved in that), and actually specifically grab the password out of the database.

And if they went to all that effort, why wouldn't they just grab the password of someone with far more money and whatnot and spread it across multiple accounts, sometimes to people they wanted to nail?

Instead, they probably either guessed the password (you know, "abc123"? Not a secure password), or phishing (sending you a PM asking for rather random information).
Or maybe Jenn just forgot her password
