Though I did just argue with everything you believe in, I do agree with you. After this I don't think J.K. Rowling should be writing any romantic stories, she's not very good at showing what it is that makes the characters like each other.



One thing that got on my nerves was that Harry was such an idiot with no real magical ability and yet everyone praised him and sheltered him so he could take his sweet time trying to find a way to defeat Voldemort. I'm starting to believe all the things Snape and Voldemort said about him.

DUREM LOVE! User Image I'm glad that you joined Durem, partly because it seems to be us against the world. Every other town hates us, makes alliances against us, and hurls abuse at us, and yet as soon as we retaliate suddenly WE are the mean team. I know it's just a game but the double standard and the hypocrisy still gets to me. *shakes head* I mean I know that we aren't innocent angels, but we aren't nearly as bad as others say we are and the Aekeans especially are not half as innocent and victimized as they pretend to be. *sigh*



I know J.K. Rowling skipped over the relationship development and went straight to the lovey-dovey feelings, and it makes it very hard to understand and appreciate the gravity of said feelings... I don't know. But Snape liked Lily before they ever met, and she wasn't exactly nice to him when they first met (granted, she was insulted when he called her a witch without explaining himself first, but still). Maybe he loved her for all of those reasons, because his love for her must have been pretty darn deep for him to love her despite her being a muggle-born and a Griffindore, and to keep loving her enough to forsaken the Death Eaters (something that's...nearly impossible right?) and put his life on the line to serve Dumbledore, and have a doe patronus all in her memory. Just a thought.

Wow, I left a long comment. Oh well. Sorry I didn't answer before, but I'm joining Durem. Even if their pitch sucks, they're still my favorite city/shops/characters, so I'll join them on principle.

Whatever makes you happy.User Image Somehow I suspected that Snape liked Lily since book one (when Dumbledore revealed that Snape hated Harry's dad and Harry for being like his dad; it seemed like there was some resentment and/or jealously there)? I don't know. I didn't realize that he loved her as deeply as was revealed in the Deathly Hallows though. What tear-jerker! User Image



I'm also very happy that Lily finally finally FINALLY got some time in the spotlight. For a while it seemed like everyone only remembered James. "Oh Harry, you look just like your father!" "Oh Harry, you're just like your father!" "Oh Harry, you're so brave just like your father!" "Oh Harry, you remind me so much of James!" "Oh Harry, you sure you want to do this? James would have done it differently." James this, James that, James everything! For the longest time Lily was only remembered as "You look just like your father, but you have your mother's eyes" and "Your mother died to save your life," like she was simply a martyr and not a person. Grr! I'm glad that she was now finally viewed as something better!



But I'm sure you have your own pet peeves (not the poltergeist). Spill it.

I agree with everything you have said about the Deathly Hallows, and I am very glad to finally be able to talk about it with someone because my family disagrees. They still think that Harry Potter is without flaws and therefor makes it difficult to discuss rationally. J.K. Rowling could have done better in terms of User Image and User Image developement. (Sorry, I can't do the "makes letters invisible" thing, and I don't want to spoil anything either).

Yeah, that's great, I'm glad that you read volume eight and enjoyed it. I think it was my sister who told you that 'Alucard' is 'Dracula' spelled backwards. Oh yeah, and I finally finished Harry Potter book 7 and I really liked it too. Harry still does not impress me though, does he know any other spells besides "Stupify" and "Expelliarmous?!" User Image Snape is redeemed though.

Yeah, don't you hate it when that happens? That's why I always wait until about the end of the month to buy donation items, because they are always expensive at the beginging of the month.
