no plans. and it doesn't always coincide with new years, in fact this is the first time I can remember that it did. last year Channukah started like 2 days before November ended. it jumps all around the december month since the Jewish calendar is originally a Lunar Calendar, so we do all the Holidays following that one. the only reason Channukah doesn't jump all around the solar year (like the Islam holiday Ramadan does), is because in his infinite wisdom, god gave us jewish leap years, where we add a whole extra month once every few years. this in turns keeps the spring months in spring, and the autumn months in autumn, because all important Jewish Holidays take place in spring and autumn. that's right, Channukah is not an important Jewish holiday. I mean it is important, just not on the same level as Pesach (Passover), Rosh Hashana (Jewish New Years) or Yom Kippor (takes place exactly one week after Rosh Hashana, it is the most holy of Jewish holidays because it is the day we repent for our sins, intentional or otherwise)

it was the first day actually. Channukah starts at night like every Jewish holiday. so it goes Saturday night was the first night, with Sunday being the first day. Channukah will end next Sunday at sunset.

girl, I could have told you that you were awkward. but hey, on the bright side, as a girl, being awkward is seen as cute. it has a moe factor. I'm a guy and probably ten times more awkward when talking to people than you are, especially if face to face to with a girl, and trust me, I'm come across as a creep. gonk The anonymity of the internet is my only solace in life. sweatdrop

also, holidays with your sister's fiance huh? that sounds nice. I'm spending Chanukah at my own home as usual. I've gotten to the point where I'm actually asking for clothes and socks and stuff. Man do I feel old.
