But I'm screwed for foreign language, because I picked Mandarin and...I can't speak Mandarin...I took four years of Mandarin classes already and I fail at it...

hmmm...
i think the education and the teachers part is just a middle school thing.
the way Mr.Davidow said it (about middle school, math at least)... well he made it sound like it mostly bullshit, what they teach and how students can get away with things.

it's not like that here though. here, the teachers teach things and you actually learn. probably honors and AP will give you the best education. i took honors english this year and i learned a lot. Ms.Lawrence is a great teacher.
next year, i'm taking two honors classes and two ap classes biggrin
