personally i have no fear of movies. maybe im kinda dehumanized, but in most cases i can laugh at terror in movies and dismiss the violence as a portrayal of real happenings.

Read the book, it is much more satisfying and realistic, provided that you know how to read a book like that (it has nothing to do with knowing how to actually read). In the book, and in the true account, a man was shot in the crotch, and the shooting pierced the femoral artery which resulted in him almost bleeding to death. Another man was shot in the leg by a ricochet, and the bullet also broke the femoral artery, and he bled to death over the course of hours, while men were sticking their fingers through his leg and into his pelvis, trying to clamp the femoral artery, all during a fierce firefight. The movie could not show the true realism of war because it's a movie. The book is a compilation of interviews and research which is turned into a completely true novel.

I recently saw Black Hawk Down.
And I don't remember any crotch shooting...

The worst was when the guy was shot with an rpg(?) in a car and was blown in half--like, the organs were completely cut in half from the top part of his body and his legs.

Or when the RPG went inside of the guy and didn't blow up.

But no crotch shooting

too gross and I would
gag and faint
or if it was scary
the person next to me
would not have any movement in there arm
and become depth
me and my friend (iloverrds)
cant take a scary movie
we would die
but I hope to conquer that fear one day!!!

yes, it will truly be amazing
@ Ms. Cheerios - as tyler said, i don't really mind. i'm not in love with it, but i think that in some ways, it's required to correctly portray a war movie, because that's the reality of war. did you see the guy who was shot in the crotch and almost bled to death from black hawk down?

today in ams i saw band of brothers and black hawk down. i started crying and gagging of disgust. it was horrible.

I wholeheartedly agree with you, and I must meet this friend, for I truly want to see that shirt that has the side sheared off due to a mortar explosion. As for the day off, I don't really have Thursday off, but it's a half-day, so I'm allowed to just sleep in class and do whatever the heck I want. And yes, John Kerry is retarded, I believe he was shot (grazed) in the a**. Much worse than a private in Somalia who was shot in the testicles, which turned to mush, and bled to death before he was able to receive the required medical attention. There are far too many arteries near that area.

john kerry is one of those bastards.

he got shot once in some fatty deposit and was hit twice by tiny flak particles in inconspicuous places


hence he won 3 purple hearts. thats bull

the only was hero i know was in the 101st airborne rangers aka the "Band of Brothers"
he is amazing and has many fun stories, most of which relate to large explosions. yeah.


even though he fought through many lines of enemies, he earned no shiny medals
