Quite frankly, most vampire lore, old and new, is bullshit. There are so many flaws... Like for instance, soullessness and mirrors. If everything soulless lacked a reflection, why do inanimate objects show up in mirrors? Also, sunlight. Since the sun reflects off the moon at night, moonlight is technically sunlight, so if vampires were allergic to sunlight, wouldn't they also be allergic to moonlight? I also fail to see what's wrong with a creature following its feeding instincts. I mean, plenty of animals are carnivorous-- maybe not SANGUIVOROUS (meaning feeding almost solely from blood)-- but they feed from meat just the same. Sometimes that meat happens to be human flesh. Humans are omnivores too-- people eat cow flesh, so does that make US "evil" or "soulless" to cows just because we're eating what we need to survive? If not, then why all this prejudice against vampires? Also, holy water. For gods' sakes, REAL holy water would have evaporated or somesuch thousands of years ago and just because it comes from a church, for instance, doesn't make it holy. Etc., etc., etc.

Actually, I don't follow the series at all. I try to avoid fads unless I'm already into them when they become well-known. I told my friends I'd start charging money if they ask me if I've read/seen Twilight.
