I've done cons before. I don't recognize any significant similarity between defrauding someone and offering them legitimate stock options.

Do they not do something or does divine capitalist providence establish their role of skimmer in this universe?

"Why would you allow someone to make a living entirely at society's expense?"
A job where you make a living starving society that is the exclusive product of competitive markets.

Shouldn't people be responsible for what they consent to, at least financially?

What about free market capitalism definitively insists on the union of investors in corporations?

I need some kind of substantiation though. What numbers are you working with, what criteria?

What justifies your accusation that all businesspeople are con artists?

well, people scoff at how lazy americans are. but really isn't being lazy basically meaning we have enough free time to enjoy ourselves? perhaps then the goal is to put all the work onto someone else.
But that is assuming you are correct and freedom is essential for an ideal society. I admit, i am not the smartest person on ED, and have so far breezed through college without paying much attention. I do not know much about history and what has worked and what hasn't. I wonder if america will be considered good or bad.

what makes a person happy though? In the "the grass is always greener" scenario, many upper class rich people claim that de-modernization (assuming we are modern) is the key to happiness. Perhaps happiness is an individual thing, and not as dependent on society as we all think. perhaps even the slaves in the feild had their own happiness and contentment.

i really wish i knew more about this subject.

i don't know. the inca's did pretty good, didn't they? but then a totalitarian society means everyone has a place, so everyone gets fed. i don't imagine 1984 would happen- the people would be useless.
