I'd like to be financially established before I do any major spending or traveling. It's less fun short term, but if I get injured somewhere along the line, it'd be nice to have a cushion to fall back on while I'm recuperating.

No particular reason beyond having seen a few NatGeo specials on some of the awesome places off the beaten path.

Not really. Don't know much about it, and exploration seems a little more fun than a planned trip, though playing it by ear's also a good way to end up trespassing, so I'll probably have to think it through to some extent.

I'd love to see some of the cliff villages, though.

Lol, naw. Friend just wants to go there. I've personally got no interest. Backpacking through China, though, that might be interesting. Check out some of the temples and villages off the beaten path.

It is funny how some people idolize Japan. It's almost like it's the 'new cool'. I think Anime has had a huge part in that. And a lot of people want to get involved in the Japanese music business. You never know, love may draw you there some day. Who's to say. Maybe you could be the "birthday boy" there. (Alright...that was really pushing it. Hiding my face in embarrassment.)

I'm not sure I'd want to go to Japan either. I know a few people who taught there on exchange and had the worst time fitting into tiny apartments without leg room to sleep. One guy who was over 6 feet had to sleep with his legs in the bathroom. They stretched too far out of the bedroom. As I recall, you were also on the tall side. Which could make you 'top dog' in Japan, but might make sleeping a little difficult.

Things have been very good for me, thanks for asking. I haven't been reading much, but life has been great. When were you thinking of heading back to school? Are you still thinking of moving to ???? Sorry, I've forgotten. I know it's where your girlfriend lives. Somewhere along the 'primrose path'.

I think if you finished those 40 pages on New Year's Day it still qualifies, because it's still 2011 somewhere. You could always lie too. But it's 'as you wish'.
Hope things are going well for you. Sounds like you're having a gas.
