This is my theory because I saw the ending of bbs and the surprise ending as well

Ventus fell asleep right? Well when Sora communicated with him, somehow, that part is shown in one of the endings, Ventus spirits goes to rest inside Sora. After Sora was taken over by darkness, don't know much about the first game :/, Ventus was the one to take the effects then like in 358/2 Days he forgets about his past and is name Roxas by Saix. That is why I think he is Ventus just like Terra becomes Xemnas
