The grand part is, that's just the zombies. The whole universe they created in the comic has even more stuff and reading it all I was just like 'woah, this is intense o.o'

The person who made the comic came up with it I'd assume. There are six other classes, 'Crawlers', your standard zombie, 'Berserkers', smart and sadistic zombies who basically beat you to a pulp before feeding on you, 'Basilisks' who petrify/paralyze you by looking at you with their eyes (which glow red), 'Hunters' which as the name implies, they hunt you. 'Howlers' which can kill you by more or less singing a 'song of death', and 'Spitters', which are almost exactly like Spitters from L4D2 xD

It's in the Encyclopedia of zombies for thezombiehunters.com
It lists the seven types of zombies in the comic, and before each one it has a quote that relates to that classes power/ability.
The Mercy class has that quote, and they're called that because they follow the weak and sick until they die, then bite them once and stay with the person until they turn.
They mercy-kill in essence, hence their title of 'Mercy'.
