Jill said you were a terrible driver and she's a very very good driver so I believe her. Also on some places on Mission the speed limit is 35, on most of it that isn't in Fremont it's 40 so yea if you are going 5 (or more) above the speed limit in the rain you count as a bad driver. The people going snail slow are bad too, so you aren't alone. There's more than one way to be a bad driver though, not all bad drivers are created equal. smile As for merging onto the freeway without knowing what conditions you were merging into I couldn't say who was in the wrong there, but again, Jill has sold you out as the world's worst driver and I have to believe my twin constantly. razz

That's nice the soul bound comes off then, I never really gifted anything I wanted back before to overly think about it. I've already made my peace with not getting my penguin back, but perhaps one day I will.

The only kid I ever knew to get expelled was in fourth grade. He swore, he hit a teacher and he stormed off campus. Basically until you have about 10+ years under your belt I don't know if you'll be able to suss out a general preference. Some fourth grade classes will be brilliant, others might not. Some classes filled with tweens might be lovely, most probably won't be. If you do primary though do you have to decide on a grade level or do you just get a degree to be a primary teacher and can then go for whatever grade within that range? Because picking a specific grade for your degree would be restricting. I know Pat does K but I think she used to do third so I assume it's that way. You just have to decide between primary, middle or high school (and w/ HS and possibly middle it's subject specific?) yes? TV had plenty of 2/3, 4/5 and 5/6 teachers so it obviously can't make you have to be that specific on what you want to decide, that'd be hard. Plus I'm now imagining millions of people who decided to go for 3rd grade and can't get jobs and yet nobody has a 5th grade degree. Well that'd realistically be horrible but the idea amuses me. razz

Bibles usually get to do things secular stuff wouldn't get away for, because ya know, God and stuff. That's interesting that there is a lego bible. I have more of an affinity toward the NT than the OT, not because of content necessarily, just because the OT was originally written in Hebrew and the NT was written in Greek and I'm all about the Greek.

My supervisor can't meet me Friday! I am not being punished for cheekily checking Gaia messages rather than working! I can take longer to work on my draft. Wee! So in response to your hope my PhD is eating me alive, it is! But it's nibbling less harshly atm!! razz

Although this kills my hardcore I don't need a V-day I have work and meetings all day. Guess my evening is free now. However, I would never take work off so still have that in the morning and I still have a meeting for the committee I run in the afternoon. So ya know, not being as crazy as one of your co-workers. Seriously who needs a whole day? Ain't nobody got time for that! rofl

Shouldn't be on Gaia should be writing, only 2 and a half hours left to write, but oh distraction! I guess I understand the discouragement of mules, but it still sucks for people who legitimately make a new account and their friends want to send them things so they don't look like a new hobo but you have to send it bit by bit (and can't send gold). I mean I don't even think it'd discourage mules because people making them have a lot more gold so it'd be easy enough to use the mules initial bits of money to buy a trading pass right away and then send them tons of things to equip. I just don't want to be associated with hobos and now I have to because (1) gifting is slow and (2) it soul bounds the item so then I can't have it back. Bollocks!

It's probably they go better than speed, hydroplane crash into you and die. You are supposed to be going below the speed limit for new rain, maybe not quite 20, but definitely shouldn't still be doing 50. Once the rain has been continuous it's fine, but yea, you're a bad driver! razz

It snowed this afternoon, which distracted the hell out of my students particularly the ones who needed to catch trains. England cannot deal with snow to save its life so when it does snow here everything shuts down and falls apart. It'd make me miss driving except Brummies (those from Birmingham, though I'll probably extend it to anyone living here beyond natives) are terrible drivers. Also they get sick joy out of driving through puddles and splashing people, absolute ********. The midlands don't always get snow but in recent years it's tended to snow at least once each year, just my luck. At least it didn't stick, that's the worst. Mostly when it becomes ice because they never clear the sidewalk (and they make homeowners/business owners liable to pay a fine if anyone slips if they clear it themselves, ya know, if it's improperly done, so nobody will risk doing it at all) and it's trying to ice skate everywhere. Last year I lived on a main road so that was cleared (if by nothing else, heavy pedestrian traffic). This year I'll have to go up and down a hill (a hill made of side streets) so I at least would like this term to end before snow sticks (preferably be in CA). I don't want to skate anywhere but I can't really work around teaching, I have to physically be there. I'm sick of rain (basically I'm sick of whatever I have in majority, if I ever move back to CA I'll once again be sick of sun) but I will take 365 days of rain over any snow. I HATE SNOW! Well, I hate snow where I have to live, things like vaca in Tahoe is okay.

Anyhow have to finish writing a paper tonight which isn't going well so I will have to get back to the long message thing tomorrow...unless I'm up all tonight then by the time I get home tomorrow I'll probably just collapse. Def by Thursday though. smile

I know how you feel on that. There's tons of things I want to do and it's hard to prioritize. So this week I've been working on this business almost non-stop to get it ready for opening xD And that sounds like a good plan. If you can move in with your mom you won't have to stress as much with money and will be able to save more.

Yes, the Chakra Spa thing is my logo. Honestly, it looks a lot better how it was originally. Being the (dumb) person I am, I accidentally saved the original file with all the layers merged... So if I were to change it even slightly, I'd have to remake it entirely from scratch, and since I already ordered business cards . . . That's why I tried making the background of my shop that pinkish color, so that it matches as best as I can get it to. Right now I'm trying to create an IMG slider to replace that sale image. That way I can have multiple images people can click through. Although at this point, I'm not too sure WHAT the other images will be. I still have to create them sweatdrop It makes me feel good for you to say the sale thing makes it look professional. It took me HOURS of trial and error to get there xDDD

Oh wow! Yeah, while browsing around in forums lately, I've seen a LOT of people saying in their sigs like "Thank you anon for donating X and X" and it turns out to be like some insanely expensive item @_@

Well, other people claim that if we keep making threads, maybe they'll listen. I also found Gaia's address weeks ago and handed it out to people, too. Last time I went into the SF, there was a thread for that as well (so maybe people have been spreading around the address I gave out a lot lol.) So if we're making tons of threads and then on top of it, people are sending letters to their HQ, maybe they'll finally get their heads out of the sand.

And thanks! I've been working really hard on them to try and make it look appealing. Here's a screen shot of what I have done so far, and that's only the front page. I finally made that image (where it says there's a sale) look appealing to me. Was trying to design a way for people to know I had a sale going on without cluttering things, so I think it turned out nicely.

It really sucks, but Gaia doesn't want to focus on fixing it. They seem to have a scheme going where they release bundles to deflate, then release gold gens to inflate. It's stupid and ruining the MP, but even tons of threads against it hasn't solved anything.

My coding knowledge is actually pretty limited even though I took four years of web design. Well, it's more like the coding on this website isn't traditional as I'm used to. And I'm making a Storenvy.com store front. It'll be for selling handmade bath and body products biggrin

And thank you. My goal, for months now, has been to expand my inventory so that I can have multiple avatars to choose from. So I'm glad to see it's working haha.

Ahh, I don't really view it as complaining. I mean, sometimes college gives me a lot of work to do, but it keeps me busy and stuff. So kinda the same as you, I enjoy it, though that doesn't mean it can't suck haha.

Hmm, so it did, that's weird. Maybe Gaia has imposed a character limit, idk. Whatever it wasn't that interesting. It's actually sunny here today, hopefully it'll stay that way. Unlike you we have no need of rain, we have years and years of water and aren't about to go into mandatory rationing and hose pipe bans if rain doesn't keep up.

Yea, no, Envy is mine. Pride is not something I've felt a lot of recently. If anything rivals my envy it's my wrath. My PhD experience is full of envy, of those who just have it a million times easier and a million more doors open from the start because they are funded. Envy of people not torn between countries, no matter where I am I seem to end up homesick. Envy for people who'd have the energy to continue on with this list.

If your housemate still hasn't paid you utilities you need to do something about it, because honestly at this point she's very likely to move out without never paying you. That's be at least a few hundred dollars out of your pocket. Either have a house meeting and say utilities need to come out of your name because not everyone is paying and you are no longer willing to be responsible for this or the other two need to be willing to either make her pay you or make her find a replacement who will. Honestly, that would be the reason I'd move out above anything else. I wouldn't live with someone I couldn't trust not to financially screw you and this girl is financially screwing you. You've been there half a year now and she hasn't paid anything? Unless you have decided it's not worth it and you are okay with just being out a few hundred or more dollars you're going to have to force confrontation. Either demand the bills go into her name and you just won't pay her anything until you've caught up on what she owed you, threaten to just allow utilities to be turned off until you've been paid what you are owed and at least a month in advance for the girl you can't trust (if your other housemates won't stand with you then they can either be screwed themselves or take up her slack) or threaten legal action (whether you take it is a moot point, legally she's stealing from you). However, I can tell you of all the people I know who either didn't pay bills or lived with someone who didn't there is a point where if you don't make threats and get angry you aren't getting paid, ever. The closer they get to end of contract the easier it is to make excuses (particularly if she's never there). So, basically you can accept right now you'll never see that money or do something right now, because in a couple of months you'll never be paid. Not unless you are able to go pull it from her family.

I'm glad the new dog doesn't live there, but that's still pretty annoying. The no pet rule might suck but it's a fair rule. Honestly with housemates you can never know if they'll take care of a pet, just because they looked after her dog a bit doesn't mean they'll keep it up on a permanent basis. I mean your work schedule alone is not pet friendly, and I imagine their schedules are similar. Plus you personally want to move away in a year so there isn't much point in getting a pet now. I mean you can't really say you could claim you were anymore responsible than ghetto b***h if you thought this was a good time to get a pet.

I haven't heard much about dead island. I almost played it when I dog-sat at JD's with Jill before I moved back here as he had it, but then I didn't and just haven't been overly motivated. I think it makes good trailers but I think the play and story probably don't really do those justice. Plus the shooters and stuff I've gotten into have had a multiplayer element (Killing Floor, L4D, TF2) and I do enjoy that more. They aren't games I'd get into solo and I don't think I really have anyone who plays Dead Island. If I had time and it was free to me (both things unlikely to cross in the near future) I'd give it a go, but yea I'm not too hyped about it.

People grow apart, and that's something I've come to accept. Sometimes the time apart is good and you can still reconnect as grown, mature people in the future. Like while the anger element of the two years we didn't speak was uncomfortable and crappy, it was probably good for both of us to grown in new ways and in your case make new friendships and in mine open
