I haven't started teaching in NZ yet,
I just got back yesterday.

But I enjoyed America.

Well this is when I was living in America for awhile, and they had fake I.D.'s.
I moved to America and started teaching there. I taught for 3 years there, then packed up and I'm back in NZ now.

I don't even know how they got the guts to do that. I know I would have never attempted to do that to any of my teachers growing up.

Oh but a funny situation, I was at a club/bar and I saw some of my students there and they got all nervous like I was going to call their parents, but instead I just bought myself a drink and sat and talked with them. It was pretty fun haha.

I've had one student write little notes in her journal about me/pretending she was revealing her 'love' to me and one day she turned in a paper, but didn't realize one of those notes were on the back. So I read it and it was really, really long and detailed. Needless to say, I never brought it up and I never acted any different around her. I just didn't think it would be right of me to do that and embarrass her.

Another student waited after class to tell me something, then before she left she put her hand on my chest and kissed my cheek. That was...awkward.

Another student actually wrote me a letter and left it on my desk. It was her telling me how much she likes me, but she knows I think very little of her. I felt bad because I didn't want her to think I don't like her as a student, but I also didn't want to give her false hope of me having feelings back.

I get put into those situations quite a bit.
And they are not always easy to work with.

Well if you want to know some of them, I can tell you some stories hahaha.

And building a friendship with your teacher is always nice. I'm close with some of my students and its nice. I like to be a good example and whenever I can be, I try to be. I was stuck on some pretty bad stuff before I decided to become a teacher, so this whole job experience has really changed me for the better.

Well, I'm still kinda fresh from college. I've only taught for 3 years.
But young teachers are always the best. cool
And history is a very awesome subject. Its interesting and it can be so very helpful from making future mistakes by repeating most of it. Also, knowing how your country was brought up to where it is now is always good to know.
The other GDer's think I'm creepy or something apparently. I've been complimented some, but its always the "You teach and you're on HERE?" kind of reaction.

New Zealand is the same way. Always a different landscape, but usually always beautiful.
And I'm not a fan of pancakes myself. They always make me sick.

I remember distinctly one class where someone had asked me where I was from (because of my accent) and I told them "New Zealand" and she literally said "Woah...is that like...a hidden island somewhere by Australia? Because you remind me of an Australian." gonk She insulted me by the Aussie reference and the "where the hell is that?" tone in her question. I should have sent her back to World Geography.
And a lumberjack? I never think of Canada and think of a lumberjack.
I always think of pancakes. lol
I'd like to visit Canada actually. I hear its beautiful there.

Hmm, yeah I think itll be worth it. You can steal my face for 2 hours to paint, I dont mind.
Then we can rock the town with our badass facepaint.
Everyone will walk past us and tell the people beside them how jealous they are.
Im so down.
