Regardless of the entity, there is always something more to know. Curiosity is natural."

Life was short; Arak was already well aware of the fact that he was pushing it by speaking so highly in the presence of a being that he felt more than just power from... but it is what it was. The world already had not been kind enough to grant him with sight and with guardians that were less than ideal; he'd have rather risked dying a cruel and unusual death by the hands of another entity than to have died remaining in that concrete room he knew so well only by spending years scraping at its floors. But, that risk was not made in vain. Hearing the demi-goddess call him a "God" figure and refer to both of them as fools was more than enough profit for his rashness. He began to laugh.

"I can agree with you on that notion, though the word that is "God" holds no meaning for me. There is no God to me, but you are welcome to believe what you like if that is your conviction."

A goddess that did not know what a goddess was. Perhaps this was too mundane of a word for her to understand; the term was created by humans for the sole use of humans after all. But the definition, he could explain later. The issue at hand, however, still applied to humans, or rather, the human psyche. After all, what could an otherworldly being understand about humans if she had not been around to experience, live and see the human world as.. well.. a human.

Arak watched the moth's life come to a close before him. Or that which provided him with sight did. For as little noise as its impact on the ground made, if one listened closely, an equally as incoherent "poor thing" dressed the murmur of death.

"Ah.. that would be the nature of humans as a species. Perhaps our glory as well, as arrogant as that may be. I don't know exactly.. what you are. Where you come from. What your denizens are like.. but humans, I know. The human desire, you question, I also know. Whether this makes us fools are opportunists is up for debate. And up to perspective. But here in this world you stand in, we live by a very simple set of rules. Live. Or die. Survive. Strive. Excel. Progress. Every day, a new bane -- by our definition -- comes forth to try and destroy us. Limit us. We are only as limited for as long we we allow ourselves to be limited. This is why we try to pass our horizons. If we were all to accept our invisible limitations, then would be all not be cattle to that which told us not to pass what we were more than capable of? Would be, as a race, not still be living scratching our names into the stone by our nails?"

The mage stepped forth, but not to encroach upon the deity's space. He scooped the dead moth up from the ground.

"I am like this creature, mortal. One day, some unknown force that I cannot stop will take my life, and there will be nothing I can do about it. I will be limited in that factor. Does this make me capable only of what this moth is capable of? Is magic really limited? Or has it merely not been discovered yet? Not been mastered? Am I a fool for adhering to my nature and wishing for progression? Or is the fool that you describe merely the fool that fell victim to avarice? In a sense, we are all limited. We are all babes in comparison to the hypothetical eternal beings that created us. But babes grow and develop. They push their limitations and expand them. Slowly, yes, but time only reveals how much progress as been made. Understanding comes with knowledge. Knowledge comes with experience. Experience comes with time."

He let the moth drop again. It was no longer relevant to his point.

"You asked me with curiosity the purpose of human fascination for danging objects. I answered your question with much ease. I have more experience as a human. I am a human. You are not. You are limited in that regard. Are you foolish for wishing to understand me despite this limitation?"

"Eccentric. A euphemism for being strange. Again, I could ask the same of you -- what is a goddess like yourself doing meddling in the earthly affairs? What would be defined not strange for one of your being by a human. What would be defined as not strange for a human by one of your being? Particularly by one who must ask me if garments are normal..."

So he knew what she was, yet he continued to speak. Whether this was confidence or sheer stupidity was debatable, for this was not a man of many expressions. Especially since one could only see his mouth.

"... but I digress. Objects which dangle have been in existence for as long as I can remember. Chickens may dangle within their cages from the fingers of the wife which means to cook them. Roods may dangle from the necks of a priest -- just long enough to rest upon the surface of his heart. Bells and chimes may dangle from the doors of shops so inhabitants may know when one enters.. and that is the purpose for which I wear them. To hear."

Out of the blue, the mage grasped at the thin air next to him, all while keeping his blindfolded face turned to the goddess.

"I am blind. I am vulnerable. And though I can see you perfectly by other means where you are standing..."

He let his hand open again, and a moth made its escape from between his fingers.

"...one can never be too careful. Wouldn't you agree?"

((I think my favorites are a tie between Kiritsugu Emiya(who is inspiration for Eunica's main ability of haste/acceleration.) and Bazette.

I like Shiki Ryogi and Shiki Tohno at points, but I loathe the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. They are incredibly OP. XD

Since I mentioned Bazzette, though... I cannot look at fanart of her without thinking of Eunica, now. XD The hairstyle, the clothes... ))
