As someone who cares about good books getting the recognition they deserve I find it very gauling that utter mediocrity such as Twilight gets such publicity. It's underlying messages of being a "good woman" "stalking is OK if the guy is good looking or not human" "a perfect relationships requires the man to be a domineering b*****d and the woman to say just yes" "suicide and mental illness is solved by love" ect.
It's a badly written book where young girls (and boys) and even adult women are proclaiming it as wonderful.
It's the sort of thing which encourages DEvolution.

The discussing of it is actually quite fascinating and enjoyable. It's not my fault if the fans are just too emotional invested and too ignorant to listen to some of it.
