I hear that. I want to get out of Georgia because it'll be one of the last states to get over its heterotyranny (though trans rights'll be slow coming across the country in general). I'd like to backpack the Appalachian Trail before I leave, though, since it'd make it easier than having to travel over.

Dang. That doesn't sound too pleasant. Then again, I don't plan on dying for a long time (10k years is an okay lifetime, right?), so maybe it'll be a little cooler when I settle down. Main reason I want to do it is because I've seen photos of the night sky over open desert and it's spectacular.

Just checked, it dropped to 70 degrees here, but I think that's because of the rain; it'd been around 95-100 for a few months. Kind of glad we've been getting it, because the roses need to grow fast before I cut them back for the winter. Humidity's about 70, but that's where it usually is.

Oh, definitely. Dry heat is unpleasant. Since I'm a Georgian, I'm a high humidity person. When the humidity drops below 70%, my skin dries out and it hurts. Hadn't thought of that when I planned on living out west in the desert when I retire. gonk

We've had high heat, high humidity here, but I'm used to it now. It's the mosquitoes that bug the hell out of me. I'd take working on roses without gloves (hurts almost as much as pulling up wild blackberry plants without gloves, but that's just masochistic there) over mosquitoes biting me 100x a minute any day.
