hello, I'm more than happy to answer all your SCAD question You asked if it was possible to do both 2-d and 3-d. Yes, that is possible but alot of work to master both. As part of the animation major degree, you are required to take a few courses in both 2-d and 3-d. After those basic courses students usually follow one of the path...or stop motion, but you could do both. As for your portfolio, I entered as a transfer and had no animation experience, in fact my focus was mainly photography. My portfolio was 70% photos and than the rest was some color pencil work that I had done. Also don't forget to include a statement of intent, artist statement, and a resume in your portfolio. Also great letters of recommendation help a lot! I hope that helps some, feel free to ask if you have any more questions or concerns.
