About
The Red WolfDown to only 12 surviving animals in the 1970’s, the pure breed Red Wolf almost became extinct in the wild by 1980s but thanks to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service rounding up fewer than 20 pure red wolves to be bred in captivity in 1980s. Thanks to this captive breeding and education, the Red Wolf is making a comeback as of 2007, approximately 207 captive red wolves reside at 38 captive breeding facilities across the United States and a bigger thanks goes out to these programs because now more than 100 pure red wolves currently live in the wild. The red wolf has been devastated in the past and present by predator-control programs and habitat loss that has caused the dearth of breeding partners in the past has them now also mating with Coyotes and creating a hybrid race too. Interbreeding between coyote and red wolf populations has remained a constant threat to the recovery of this imperiled species. The Red Wolf it is still highly endangered and may not be able to survive modern times and modern humans even though it is one of the top 10 endangered and protected animals in the world. The Red Wolf is an a mascot in a way because of what we have to protect now for we will surely loose them, and much more, if we remain unaware of the changing times. Its past time we stop and take a look at what we are doing not only to our environments but the creatures that once resided in them. If we do not stop our over use and careless ways we are going to kill off everything including ourselves.

Did you know that it is estimated that with all the things our forests do like filtering water, waste, providing habitats for animals and plants, capturing greenhouse gases and attracting tourists to the forests here in the USA they are worth about $250 billion a year in US dollars, now just imagine if we stopped this overdeveloping of our land resources how much better we would be off, how clean our soil and air would be.
True Legends by Jemmziee
Somethings coming over me
as I stare up at the moon
my hands are shaking fiercely
as I look around my room
Nothing has changed it's defenditly me
My breathing is speeding up
then I am forced to my hands and knees
I try to get up, so I jump
I didn't seem to move an inch
So I looked down at my feet
They have turned to paws and fur
and I can't take the heat
I walk over to where my mirror is hung
and peak at whats looking back at me
I stare at my long nose and ears
and I decide to run, I'm going to flee
I'm running for my life, dodging the trees
I tilt my head to look at the sky, and the sun was beaming
the morning is near
but was the legend true, or was I just dreaming?
Subject to The Moon by werewolve-vampire
Forest God, the great hunter who took the shape of the wolf
to reward them for their devotion, his mate, the moon gave them the gift to be more then human. Throw aside the pelt of hunted animals and grow there own
And so for their children's children's children they will still carry the beast
within and they were all subject to the moon
The Werewolf
The way you walk, is funny
Though through no fault
Of your own
Even a man
Who's pure at heart
And says his prayers at night
Fears, the changing foot prints
On the night
When the wolfs bane blooms
Under the bright beams
Of a full moon.
