I suppose you could try and sneak him... We're not allowed pets, and the neighbor has a dog who barks all day long. Someone had a cat, too, at some point, because the beautiful thing was out in the hall one day, and I opened the door and she ran right inside! As long as no one rats you out...? I don't see the point. I mean, a huge dog might be a problem, but a CAT? Come on! Smoking leaves worse smells and stains than cats do, and nobody bans that in apartments, right?

Aww... Do you have a friend who can take him in? That's got to be tough. My partner had to do the same thing. Luckily my folks just live an hour from me, so I can visit my cats. We had a max of 9 at one time, and all but 2 male. Some of those we have left just do NOT get along. How about yours? Ours weren't all raised together, though.

They're my favorite animals by far. I really like fat, fluffy ones!! Do you have any? My mom's taking care of mine (all 6 of them!), because my landlady won't let us have animals in the building, sadly. I just have a couple Betta fish right now, since they're all we can have. =P
