Lucifer Box is a portraitist, darling of high society, dandy, lothario and secret agent. When not defeating dastardly villains and saving the Empire from certain doom, he likes to hang around seedy bars and music halls chatting up slatternly women and rakish young men. His favourite flower is the lily and his favourite element is arsenic.

Q. Are you really the English gentleman you claim to be, absinthe and top hat and all?
A. Define 'really'. I am English, and I am a gentleman, but I must admit that no, the little oik behind the keyboard is not in actuality an Edwardian secret agent. I am what is known as a gimmick mule.

Q. So who are you on your main?
A. If I told you that, I'd have to kill you. All I'll say is that he's a regular who plays at being me on the weekends, for what I believe modern sorts refer to as 'the lulz'.

A. Two words: Time trumpet.
