I stopped donating gold because I believe we should learn to earn.
If you give someone gold; they will simply use it all up then resort to the same begging methods; which hardly get you anywhere.
Whereas if you simply teach them how to make gold; they will earn and gain much more gold than they would have if they begged.
It is of course up to the one in need though; if they are not willing, they will not get anywhere.
