It *is* counterintuitive. As I said to my surgeon, "I've been poisoned, and mutilated, and now I'm gonna be irradiated and this is HEALING?!" She thought I was nuts. And yeah, I was given a 50% chance of living 5 years. (I had to bargain my way up from a 33% chance XD.) One thing that helped me was Reiki, which is a healing system of chakra alignment 'n' stuff like that. So even in the midst of trash, pearls can be found. Peace Out!

Well, God forbid it comes to that, but if it does, it's survivable. I sit here in witness to that! It kicks your a** though. Seriously. Then post-surgery there was radiation, which kicks a** in a way you'd thought couldn't possibly equal chemo, but it does. Geez. I'm still hoping for the Star Trek medicine where they hypo-spray you & fix you right up. (My oncologist said maybe in 50 years. I wonder if he was just humoring me?)

Yep. (I'm 49, it's not like I was 19 or something.) It was blowful to the max. Chemo, surgery - it's not like I was planning on giving you a PSA here, Raven, but while I'm here, FOR GOD'S SAKE (more like for *your* sake) learn and practice BSE!

I'm in Hicksville, (central) Maryland. Well, that was unkind. But not far from the truth. It's a rapidly-urbanizing former farm area where the infrastructure is not keeping up with the growing demands of the population. On the plus side, they have an awesomely complete breast cancer treatment program that probably saved my life. Not that I value my life that much, but it *was* nice of them.
