At least there is one thing we can be assured of. Those books won't transcend through time like the LOTR books have. In 10-20 years they'll be forgotten about. There is nothing memorable, new or interesting enough about them to have them last

I don't think it's as easy for girls to be as rabid as Twilight has them. There's no Edward-esque character in the books. Though I suppose Alton would be jacob-esque in terms of a love triangle. I dunno. I'd like to think readers would be a bit more intelligent because the books are written on so many levels (and have lots of hidden messages/foreshadowing moments). I mean, I'd count myself as a crazy fan, but certainly not rabid. I just tend to get a bit excited when I talk about them biggrin But I'm not "Zachary is MINE!!1!!1", "Zachary is the smexy" or "team Zachary" or anything like that... actually, my favorite male in Green rider is actually Fastion, but I'm not rabid over him either, I just think is character is great.

yep, I did the same. Made myself read all of them and all I developed was a deep disgust for them. I don't understand why a badly written book gets so popular but, really good ones, like Green Rider, stay unknown. Its pretty annoying. Such is life though I suppose
