Lost art? Yeah, I know it's been actually years, but I'm nothing if not a forum necromancer, able to raise long dead posts. Anywho, I realize that are we get older (I am 28 now), we seem to have less time to game. But, let me put it this way:
I work 32 hours a week minimum. I'm currently playing Vindictus, working on mods for Skyrim, starting another playthrough of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, another playthrough of Deus Ex Human Revolution, playing Sniper Elite V2, RPing when we can find a way to get together (rare though it may be), work on finally writting my novel, do all the grocery shopping and other household chores (although Yume, bless her, does more than her fair share of that), and spend time with family.
Where does all my gaming fit into that? Well, it seems to be priorities. Chaos has said before he no longer has time for gaming as well. But he does watch roughly... 20-30 hours of TV a week. How much TV do I watch? Less than 30 minutes a week, if that.
I'm not saying my choice of priorities is "more correct" or something along those lines, I'm simply saying that it can be done.
I've been gaming since I was 4; I see no reason to stop now.

Ah. Game playing.. I'm almost at the point that that will be a lost art for me. My days consist of time with the wife and kid. And soon to be one of my own in about 4 months. But yes, I am glad to hear that you are doing well for yourself.

@shen: I doubt very much so that you'll even respond to me. But I just finally decided to let you know, that although we don't converse anymore IRL, I really do miss the times in which we did. Everything from yugioh to gaming to pretty much life itself. I sometimes wonder if you too, miss those times when we would play FFCC, Red Steel, heh.. Even StarFox Assault. Ah, those were good times. Oh well. What's done is done and probably can't be undone. Well to you and your.. lover, wife, soon-to-be wife, or whatever. I wish you guys all the best.

Ahh the past is where all the memories lie. I'm playing FF X, for some reason I just seem to enjoy this one the most. Though I've been hearing nothing but bad things about FF XIII, really some people didn't like the character, the storyline something was missing in this one. Not sure what. But anyways how have you been as late? Me just been into the world of Warcraft, it's fun but hard and such I enjoy it. I'm trying to get a hold of a copy of Aion I really want to try it.

Peace Walker is going to be awesome. Y'know, it's funny, but I didn't expect me to look forward to another Metal Gear Solid game. If anything, the only one I was looking at with a mild interest was Metal Gear Rising. Oh well. With any luck, I'll be able to grab a copy of MGS razz W when it comes out in June.
Oh, and I'm going on vacation until the 30th. If you need to reach me, and I want you to, you already know how. Draygon out.

With Alu recently having his birthday, it dawned on me that I'm nearly 26. And what do I have to show for it? Well, a pretty good tax return, and nice home, a good debt-to-income ratio, and building equity as I go, not counting my 401(K). Heh, aside from finances, though, I don't really have much going for me ATM. But, then again, as I get older, I realize that it's the small, simple things that make my life enjoyable.
Staying up with Yume, watching bad horror movies. Hanging out with Alu, and randomly discussing the newest video game, or RPG, or game console. Honestly, these are the moments that are, truly, some of the best I've had in recent times. What with being depressed and bipolar, these are the moments that ground me when I most need it.
Anyway, was just playing Starfighter 3k when those musings came to me, so I thought I'd jot them down while I had the chance. I'm gonna play Star Ocean til I fall asleep. Night... er, morning, all.

Yes, yes. I'm still alive. I'm realizing that, the older I get, the less free time I have. Or, rather, the more I use my free time for sleeping, eating, and spending time with my family, that I can't really do much of the things I used to do everyday, like hang out with my friends. Hell, as it is, I only get about 4 hours of gaming in a day, and that's counting the hour lunch I have at work, and if I stay up until 5 in the morning.
So, frankly, I will try to remember to post. In fact, I realize that the more I post, the more "grounded" I become, letting me get my thoughts out in a condensced, "cliff-notes"-esque form, allowing my to lay it all out and digest it more coherently. In other words, my journal on Gaia helps me sort through all the crap I have to do simply because it lets me write it all down.
Anywho, gotta leave for work. I'll -try- to remember to post tonight, if I can pull myself away from Lunar Silver Star Harmony and Blazblue portable long enough.

Ah, good good. Glad to hear that you're still alive my friend. And I do hope that you beat the crap out of that sickness you've got.

Oh yes. You've probably seen the comment I left in your journal somewhere (the really long one). Yeah, I meant every word of it. Although I say we should hangout sometime, it is still up to you. But in any case, enjoy the holidays with family and friends, and be safe my friend.

Switching gears for a minute, I watched Advent Children Complete on Blu-ray earlier at work, and I have to say, I'm impressed. Aside from looking pimped out on a Sony 52" TV in 1080p, they added a lot more. For example (SPOILER WARNING)
When Cloud is in the final battle with Sephiroth, he actually attempts to use Omnislash, the original omnislash, complete with Limit Break aura. It fails horrible, with him getting impaled on the Masamune, ala what really happened at the Nibelheim reactor. Sephiroth then says something like "Do you remember this pain?" or some such. (I tried to find a vid on youtube, but since it's so new, all the vids are being deleted.) Then, Sephiroth hits him with his limit break, Octaslash. Cloud drops, nearly dead, about to give up, when Zacks talks to him through the life stream.
"Giving up? Embrace your dreams, and no matter what, never forget your SOLDIER honor... well, okay, you never made SOLDIER. But it's what's in here *pats his chest* that counts. Need a hand with him?" *Cloud shakes his head no* "You beat him once already, right? This should be a cinch." *his face turns serious* "Cloud. You remember what I told you." *Cloud nods once* "I am your living legacy."
Then the fight resumes as normal.
(END SPOILER WARNING)
Yeah, they also added a lot of new dialog, a few new scenes, like what happened to the Turks when the helicopter crashed, and redid some of the dialog, like the annoying line, Marlene saying "IS IT HER?" really piercingly, shierkingly loud? They redid that, with her saying it gentler, which I find better. Overall, it has enough new features to warrent a solid rent if you've already seen it, and definately buy if you're a FFVII fan, and have never seen it. 4/5

Apologies for the double-post, people, but I was wondering. Aside from story mode, what else is there to do in Dissidia? I mean, you can fight other people, with both custom characters and arcade mode, and you can grind to level them up. But what else is there? Is there a way to play the entire story as a single character, for example? If there were choices like that, it may still redeem itself in my eyes. As it is, once I've beaten it, it'll collect dust along with other games like Coded Arms and Untold Legends.

Well, I've now played the localized version, and it seems pretty similar, despite what I've heard, both good and bad. However, unlike the other Final Fantasies, which, once I've played for more than an hour or so, they "get their hooks into me" so-to-speak, and I can't put them down, Dissidia doesn't have the same... appeal to me. A good game for sure, but it doesn't have the lasting power that say, Monster Hunter or FFVI, VII and VIII have.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm farming GP in the Gold Saucer in FFVII with the "Super Dunk" game.

...Onion Knight FTW. ^_^

*Smiles a bit* Good to see you Kain, and you as well Yume. Dissida is great game to play, I prefer to use the Final Fantasy XII character. Cloud, Tidus, Zidane and Terra (Tina as they call her) are the Uber ones to use. Sadly I've used Sephiroth and his ablities are little off the balance chart, Squall is a combo freak, Jecht is just hard to use due to the fact you can hold the sqaure or circle button down to do a stronger attack but.... I wish you luck with Chaos he's the boss and pretty hard to defeat I've played the game and enjoyed it and you will too once you get everyone to Lv. 100 *Ein waves his baby arms*
