Kaien's sword easily cut through Mordred's unprotected neck. However, the wounds Kaien inflicted heal almost instantly after they were inflicted "No sword, no spear, no weapon, nothing shall harm me, for I am Mordred." Mordred reached up and grabbed Kaien, he then tossed him across the room and sent him crashing into a wall, the force of the impact broke several of Kaien's ribs. "Now you know why I said that my defeat was improbable. I have killed 25 purebloods, 1427 other vampires, and over 1,000,000 humans. I absorbed their life energy, indeed their very souls, and I now possess their collective regeneration rate. My wounds heal instantly that is why, if memory serves you, Victor mentioned that no one has ever seen me injured. Your resistance is futile." Mordred raised his hand "My Beta's allowed me to learn this little trick from Rima." Suddenly lightning surged from Mordred's palm and flew at Kaien.

As Kaien pulled his sword away his arm began to go numb "Your bragging is illogical without knowledge of the situation you're in, my sword is powerful enough to break bones and cause nerve damage even if it's blocked. Further attempts to merely block my attacks are ill advised." Mordred then dissappeared from sight and reappeared behind Kaien, he attacked with a horizontal slash.
