He didn't believe the apology. If Jasper was sorry he would have expressed it more properly instead of half-assed. Though, Reeve did happened to see the other's ear. That must have been what he was trying to hide, not like it mattered anyways. The brunet sat back in his chair and turned it away from Jasper, waiting for him to leave.

Reeve's head snapped to the side from the blow, his cheek now burning. He slowly turned his head to face Jasper again, fingertips tenderly touching where he was struck. That added insult to injury...even though it was technically adding injury to insult. Part of him wanted to ask what was that for but more of him just wanting to strike back. Reeve couldn't find it in himself to utter a word save for a huff, unable to believe that Jasper just struck him when he was already down.

He gripped a little onto his own hair, his face still buried in his hands. His palms lightly dampened due to a few tears that managed to escape him. Reeve stood up and slammed his hands down hard on his desk. A glare piercing into the other. "Don't you DARE say that he doesn't care! You know nothing about Rufus so if I were you I would shut the ******** up!!" No thanks to Jasper, the image of the blond laughing at him behind his back was implanted in his head; yet, in his heart, Reeve knew Rufus cared. He had to have. The Commissioner took a deep breath, trying to get a hold of himself before he does something that him and Jasper would both regret. Jasper was just trying to help...right? Unfortunately he was never good at that, no offense to him. "And why do you care in the first place?" Tuesti frowned and glanced away.

A brow twitched. "Better that way?" Those brown eyes of his snapped up towards Jasper, glistening with fury. "Better that way?! Better for my heart to be shattered into pieces? Something so good to end before it even had a chance to blossom into something wonderful? No, it's not better that way." Reeve gripped onto his chair. A moment later they eased. The fury in his eyes faded into sadness. He didn't mean to suddenly combust like that. It just...came out. The man buried his face into his hands and heaved a sigh.

He observed Jasper moving the things around but didn't stop him, he didn't really mind. When the Shadow glanced up at him, Reeve met his gaze with glassy brown eyes. He had no idea what to say. The man could stand there and refuse to tell him what was going on but it wouldn't help anything. Either was actually telling him his problems. It was bad enough that the man who was before him had to be Jasper. They had a past together, even if it was very brief if it can even be described as such. With a sigh Reeve sat down in his chair, breaking the gaze as he looked at his office floor.

"Don't worry about me. I'm fine." Stop caring. You have no reason to. Reeve watched Jasper move around the desk. He remained where he was, trying to keep up a wall of mental fortitude. For some stupid reason, he just wanted to break. That stupid reason might be because he's always bottling up everything inside. He grit his teeth and exhaled slowly through his nostrils.

Tch. "Nothing, I'm fine." The older man's tone made it clear that he wasn't. He looked to Jasper. It was odd to see him in a turtleneck, but Reeve was clever and knew the other was hiding something. His hair was also down when it's usually up. Was that a look of concern? It's not like he should care anyways. Reeve quickly glanced away and frowned.

He didn't turn around, at least not yet. Reeve looked the coffee over where it sat on his desk. It's not that he didn't trust Jasper, but he was more concerned with why the man was there in the first place. "I'm not thirsty.." The brunet was probably lying and could most likely use the small pick-me-up.

Reeve nearly jumped at the small gust of air for he was starting to grow paranoid, until he saw he note. He read it over, right away he reconized the writing. Of all the times, why did he have to show up now? "Jasper." What was the point of him being hidden if he already made his precense known?

The Commissioner had just come back from visiting Cloud when he walked into his office and noticed something...different. He closed the door behind him and made his way to his desk. A cup of iced coffee catching his gaze. "Hm?" Reeve quirked a brow but narrowed his eyes. He didn't remember having this or anyone bringing it in. Either way he never trusted a drink unless he saw it prepared or it was from someone he can thoroughly reply on. He wasn't about to make a familiar mistake on drinking something that was tainted with drugs. Brown hues scanned the room, knowing that he wasn't alone.
