Here's the advance lowdown on the contest:

it's a steampunk based one called City of Steam, with a 5 million gold pot. the influences will vary from Jules Verne to Doctor Who to Dark City to Cowboy Bebop to Sanctuary and etc. I plan on covering all the varieties of steampunk. it's a muti-part contest with quests/contests based on various steampunk novels, movies, and shows, not copies of them, but concepts derived from them with a gaian twist. since i'm fairly new to gaia i'll need a gaian history buff to assist, i want the continuity of the event's history to mesh seamlessly into gaian history, with a lost city kind of concept at the end similar to the Journey To The Center of the Earth meets City of Ember, but instead with a haunted steampunk city buried deep within the bowels of Gaia, I got the idea while I was watching Sanctuary the other night actually. I'm a huge steampunk geek, but I'm usually quiet about it. In addition to the concept process, currently I'm questing to recruit 4 artists, 1 html designer (maybe if i'm lucky , carbonphyber will help me), 2 writers (in addition to myself), and a few hosts/general staffers. biggrin

Just chilling, thinking about doing a steampunk style charity event at this charity I'm about to reopen, which of course, being that Doctor Who is the ultimate steampunk style show, will include plenty of Doctor Who style themed stuff, wanna be on staff? biggrin

It's soooooooooooooo good, the other thing that I'd really love to see, is some kind of Doctor Who/Torchwood/Unit crossover multi-part series... They never show enough of UNIT and it's been around soooooooooooooooooo long now.

I know and Jack really needed him, he gave Jack a chance to let down and just be human. It made me cry when he died. crying I have to get my boyfriend into the show. smile
