Welcome to the Nightmare Realm. Now that you are here, you have no choice but to listen to my story...

My name is Itachi Uchiha. I entered the Anbu Black Ops at thirteen where I was pushed into an unimaginable mission. The Hokage ordered me to slay my entire clan, for reasons I am not permitted to say.

Finally, that dreadful night came. I had no problem murdering my pathetic excuse for a father. He never showed his affection for either of us. My mother, well, she was just as simple as him. She should've put a stop to my father's ways, but she did not, and now she is dead.

(The rest of the clan was slain first, of course. I had to murder the weakest first.)

Minutes later I heard his screams. I wish he had gone for help......Sasuke......I'm sorry you had to see it with your innocent eyes...

He screamed for his parents, until he stood outside the room which I lingered in. Despite what I knew was coming, I had to see his face once more......just once more before we were separated forever......but even then...I couldn't do it...

"Sasuke don't come in!!!" I shouted.

It was too late...

The doors were pushed open and he walked in. His eyes widened. "Who would do this?" I heard him whisper. I turned my vision too him. He froze. "B-big brother...?" He could not believe it was me. And why should he have? I had never done anything to him to make him believe so.

"Itachi!!" He cried. "Father and mother ar-" I threw a kunai. He cringed in pain. I wanted nothing more than to rush to his aid, but...no...there was no furture left for me...

"W-why did you do this......big brother?" He stammered. He was trembling. I could see the utter fear and horror in his eyes. But I had to do it. So I answered, lying through my teeth, I answered my brother...

"To measure my capacity," I said, "That's all." "You killed them for that?!" He glared at me then. I knew it had happened. Right then and there......he began hating me. And for many more years......he lived on to hate me as I had instructed him.

And yes, we'd met once before the end. He had mastered the Chidori. I was impressed, but of course I could not show him this. No, I could not turn back now...

Many more years passed after that. I did not see him, although I wish I had. The Hokage that had ordered me to kill my clan was dead then. I should have returned to him then. But I couldn't risk the Akatsuki murdering him now could I?

The last time I saw him......oh yes, I remember it well. I knew it was the end for me. I could sense his chakra the moment he entered. I foresaw my own death and I was willing to die.

We fought until we were too tired to go on. Yet I, I could never go on, while he had the strength to continue on living, I did not. He laughed coldy then.

"I've finally surpassed you Itachi," he laughed once more, "I've finally destroyed you. Just wait until our next battle you'll see, I'll kill you then..." He dragged himself over to me.

I had injured his leg almost beyond repair...almost. He looked down into my eyes, his burning with the flames of hate, I did something I had not done in a while....

I smiled.

His eyes widened again. Just like they used to when I'd walk him home from the academy unexpectedly. "Why are you smiling?" He yelled. I laughed......the last time I ever would. "I'm sorry Sasuke," I poked his forehead, "There won't be a next time."

I saw his eyes widening further as I closed mine. His eyes were filled with tears then......and that's when I heard his last words to me...

"I guess I've obtained the Mangekyo State now right?" He wiped the tears from his eyes. "I'd never been able to obtain it because......" He paused taking in a deep breath. "Itachi......you are my closest friend."

I am dead now. I lie awake in the afterlife constantly wondering how his life has turned out. Sometimes I wish I had gone back to him when I'd had the chance, but then again......I might never have heard those words.

I just wish I could tell my dear brother one more thing......

I do not hate you for killing me. I will always be here, waiting for you, in the afterlife. When that day comes when you meet me here, I will explain everything and I will give you those shuriken instructions that I never got around to...

Sasuke...my brother...
