About

Well...about me...I'm a high school student who became curious about "Gaia" after it was discussed in the Random section of my "home" forum. Naturally, with my curiosity piqued, I decided to carpe diem and c-c-check it out.

...which brings me here.

What do I love?

I love reading (my bookshelf is basically at the exploding point, with novel cannabalism always present), and I consider myself a somewhat decent writer. I used to dabble in original fiction--still do, for that matter--but found recently that fanfiction, when written well, can be phenomenally fun.

I love watching movies, love reviewing them and love to simply analyze film. I'm one of those sick, perverse people who watches a movie not for a simple "rah-rah-blissful-Hollywood-brainlessness" and "OMG-hot-guy-must-see-movie", but for the deep intellectual part of film. It's an art, but it's an art that's very difficult to get right.

I love RPGing--but I'm very picky about who I RP with and what the plotline is. I tend to be somewhat a**l about grammar and the English language in general, and won't be afraid to rip into someone who decides that all lower caps is totally the way to go.

I love swimming, and did cross country for a fall sport not too long ago, but also enjoy fencing (epee is for wussies--sabre all the way) and white-water rafting.

I love to talk politics in a calm, debate-like manner and love to butt-heads with people of my own brain-power or greater.

I love people who are intelligent. Anyone who can prove a point to me cleanly, with great articulation and smarts totally gets an "A" in my book. Frequently (because I am impressed by these people) I often feel inclined to ask them to be on my buddies list.

...which might explain why the list is so small. D:

And, last but not least...I LOVE music. I consider myself an avid musician--always striving to get better--and absolutely cannot stop myself from humming or blurting out the titles (or lyrics, for that matter) to a song if I know it. At the current time, I play the piano, viola, violin, cello, bass, saxaphone (badly), trombone (somewhat better than badly), the guitar (decent), and sing opera with my mother when we're both very tired or bored. I love to compose, but never get around to transcribing; generally speaking, when I compose something, it remains eternally on my recorder and never, ever gets to see the light of my laptop...which saddens me greatly. sad

My musical tastes are really...weird. I can jump from pop (and yes, Aqua rocks), to rap (Sir Mix A Lot=love), to Arabian rock (Rachid Taha, baby). to score music (John Powell is my idol) within minutes. I try to remain open to all musical experiences and try NOT to bite someone's head off if they do not have the exact same opinion as me. We're all entitled to being different...even if I don't agree with you.

WELL, child, I must say that you sure do seem to LOVE many things. But what do you hate?

I know this might be a shock to many, but my hate list is almost as large as my love list. I often tend to have a deep, nasty and brutal habit of being cynical, and --though I'm trying to rein back on it--being sarcastic does sometimes tend to lend itself in my direction.

I really don't like self-righteous people who believe that their opinion is GOD and anything saying otherwise it totally bad juju. Though I myself--like every other living, breathing, thinking human--would like to think that my opinion IS right, I am often reminded that it is, in fact, erroneous. When this happens, I will (usually) apologise and learn from my mistakes.

...there are other times, however, when ego gets in the way and I might just ignore the point put forth entirely.

I depise bad grammar and English with a deep passion, and though I will take it from n00bs and younger children for a short while, anyone who is over the age of thirteen and decides that being lazy with correct spelling and whatnot lands themselves in the hot-seat. Keep in mind, ladies and gentlemen: I really, really, really hate bad English. Like, with a deep and sincere passion.

There are many, many, many others, but I'll just keep it at the basics. I do think--afterall--that that really is all you need to know how to stay on muh bad side and muh good side.

Uh...okay. Anything else?

Umm...yeah. Thanks for dropping by the profile (plain it may be) and perusing the page. I'd love for anyone with curiosity to feel free to click on the links provided in my signiture and check out my FAC, DA, FF.net and FictionPress.net galleries. Go on...I know you're curious.

Anyhoo...thanks for your time,

I must say, I'm glad to hear from you again. I apologize for taking so long to reply (and I still need to reply to your PM) but I've been so busy and scatter brained recently!

I've been doing pretty well, although I keept forgetting to go to sleep at a decent time, so I'm always tired, oh well- as soon as Winter break is here I should be able to recuperate.

How have you been? Well I hope.

..terrible actually. our orchestra is falling apart. D: our teacher has been sick for like, ever, and our substitute is a wacko bohemian who doesn't know a thing about music (or padded bras either)! D:

Thanks for the most advice on the vibrato topic. The way you elaborated is nothing like i've ever heard before. my cello teacher comes only for one hour once a week and she has a hard time speaking english. so the way you explained things...just wow. thanks a bunch. heart

Response to your question about "Life as a writer".
Hmm. How is it where I live? Well I guess I could describe it like this: The other students here have a problem with me for some duranged (sp?) reason. People here are quite rude most of the time, and the place I moved here from nobody was ever mean to me. At all.

So I just think there are too many mean people here. Not saying you're mean or anything, but it's just the way I view this place.

As for the rest of my life here, I think Colorado is cursed! gonk
Coz as soon as we moved here all this really bad stuff started happening, and it's only been getting worse.

biggrin Other than that it's all okay, though!

I am but a simple soul whose life is one of writing...Though there IS the occasional photograph...And then that one in a million try at the often sacreligous world of fanfiction...Which I abandon to take the path of originality.
