Jake W. leaves Aiden

Seattle goth punks Aiden have parted company with guitarist Jake Wambold.

An update from guitarist Angel Ibarra on the band's MySpace blog reads as follows:

"Well, now that it is out in the open. Yes, Jake Wambold is no longer in the band. This has definitly [sic] been a difficult situation for us. I'm not going to give you reasons or specifics on anything because its does not matter... It is what it is. However, what does matter is that I have been hearing and reading things of what people have to say on this, who really shouldn't be saying anything at all.

"It has nothing to do with them, nor were they in the band!! and it is definitly [sic] not their place to say anything. So please just understand that people exaggerate. With that said we miss you all and we will see you all very soon we have shows this weekend in Spokane and Seattle Washington so come out and rock with us.

"Angel + Aiden"

Guitarist Jake Wambold has departed Aiden for reasons unknown.

The guitarist has left the band on what appears to be not-so-good terms, based on messages left on Aiden's MySpace.

"This has definitely been a difficult situation for us," guitarist Angel Ibarra stated. "I'm not going to give you reasons or specifics on anything, because it does not matter. ... It is what it is. However, what does matter is that I have been hearing and reading things of what people have to say on this, who really shouldn't be saying anything at all. It has nothing to do with them, nor were they in the band ... and it is definitely not their place to say anything. So please just understand that people exaggerate."

The group has collectively posted its own blog to shed some light on the future of Aiden: "We are announcing that Jake W. is no longer a part of Aiden. We will continue on as a four piece. I know this may come as a shock for some of you, and some of you could care less. I just want to say to everyone that this is by no means the end. This, my dearest friends, is but a beginning, a new chapter has opened up for us and the fire you saw before will be replaced with a much higher level of intensity. (Sorry to all the people who would like to see us to break up, you can keep on hating another day. ... Believe.)"

Aiden formed in 2003 and have since released three full-lengths: 2004's Our Gangs Dark Oath, 2005's Nightmare Anatomy and 2007's Conviction.

Wambold has yet to post his side of the story, which leads us to ponder what went wrong. Post your conclusion in the comments below!
