Roderich Edelstein is the human Representative of Austria, obviously.
His birth mother, Noricum, was a Celtic kingdom, which spread over what is now Austria and parts of Slovenia, while his birth Father was Germania, who had a large portion of land and territory, though that was always changing due to invasions by Russians, Gaul, Norse, Romans as well as any one else who had tried to conquer him.
Roderich's relationship with Germania is a bit sad. While Germania had wanted Roderich to be a warrior like himself, Roderich did not want that. None the less, Roderich had complied with his father, dueling many people through his childhood, resulting in many scars.
Roderich does not show anyone the scars in modern time, in fact he would go as far as to use make up to cover up his scars with makeup.
The only person who has seen said scars are Elizaveta, and she would actually help him cover them up.
Austria itself, did not exist anywhere from 976-996, the country being written as 'Ostarrîchi', in reference to the Babenberg March.
Roderich does in fact know combat skills, though he does not wish to use them. While he was growing up, his father had taught him the art of swordplay as well as how to use spears.
Out of both Roderich and Prussia, Roderich always came in second due to Prussia always beating Roderich at any duel.
Later in childhood, he had grown a certain fondness towards classical music, as it was all around him at the time. Needing a break from his family fighting, he took up musical lessons. He would play and play every day, until he felt he was good enough, and yet still plays each day. Violin, piano, and flute are his favorite instruments to play.
The House of Hapsburg had a huge impact on Austria's life, as it had happened to last for many centuries. While the Hapsburg house was active, Roderich was forced into many marriages, most of which he did not want. Along with these marriages would come war as well as death. (I apologize for my lack of studying, I shall get more on this as I study more! ♥)
========Relationships========
Hungary:
The Hungarians had originally invaded what would be Austrian territory, for many years. The at the time, they of course, did not like this. After a few decades, the Austrian territory would retaliate, soon gaining back their land. A few centuries later, the two were to be married, but neither party was willing. Their marriage was not a happy one, but they kept their cool in front of any guests they might have had, as well as the public. The two had only been married 51 years. After Hungary and Austria had divorced, they had decided it was best to just be friends. He will still comfort her, as well as buy her nice things. It's sort of grown onto him.
Prussia:
Prussia and Austria are half brothers (Roderich being the elder brother), they have the same father but different mothers. As the two were growing up, Prussia would constantly bully his older sibling for not being as tough as he was. In later life, the two found themselves at war with each other quite a bit. Though he continues to fight with Gilbert to this day, Roderich does not completely hate him.
Germany:
Ludwig is the younger brother of Gilbert and Roderich. The two raised him while their father had disappeared. Roderich deeply cares for Ludwig, though he may not show it very well. ( I'm going to try and expand on this more once I study German-Austrian relations a bit more. )
Switzerland:
Roderich himself, cares for Vash very much. Growing up, Vash and Roderich were close friends, but they soon drifted apart. Austria would choose to hold onto those memories, while Switzerland threw them away. While Vash's harsh words do hurt Roderich, he is thankful that he would be kind enough to remember him.
France:
The two already have a bad past together, and have been in wars with each other. Roderich does not like Francis, and will get irritated while around him. Most of the anger roots from Marie Antoinette. While Roderich had tried to bring her back into Austria. Francis had ended up finding her, and beheading her. Roderich beat himself up for her death, but doesn't want to forgive Francis for it.
America:
Roderich does actually take a liking to Alfred. After WWII ended, both Austria and Prussia were no longer countries, but Austria was allowed to become a country again. Alfred had helped Roderich with reconstruction. (Roderich had also been in a wheelchair due to these events.) Alfred also helped Roderich with the Austrian State Treaty. So all in all, Roderich does like Alfred.
=========What I Will Role Play=========
I'm a college student, and am only able to roleplay in the mornings and Friday~Sunday. Please understand this if you would like to roleplay.
I'm very fond of paragraph roleplaying, though I do know that not everyone can type out that much. If we do end up not doing paragraph roleplays, I would at least like you to be able to form a sentence.
You may call me Liz, if you choose. You may also call me Roderich if that is fine with you, as long as you do not give me a random nickname.
As far as shipping goes, if Roderich is in a relationship, I’d like for him to stay in one. I do not want your character to pry at my character. There are very few instances that he will stray away, and that is for me to know. If Roderich is not in a relationship, and your character would like to be with him I do ask that 1) We are friends out of character, and 2) The characters do have history with each other.
My out of character marks are normally [[ ]], if I am mobile they will be (( )), and other days they will be //. Script action marks will always be - or a single /.
