Powers
Johnny can cover his body in fire, fly at supersonic speeds, project fireballs or other fire objects, manipulate existing flame, and absorb heat with some mental strain. He can generate a nova-level burst of flame, one million degrees Fahrenheit, although this usually exhausts his powers for some time. Under normal usage, he is able to maintain his flame form for up to 17 hours.

Johnny briefly gained the powers of the Invisible Woman, which included the ability to turn himself and others invisible, and generate powerful force fields. Cosmically enhanced by Galactus, these powers were greatly amplified, and he could traverse space as well as analyze and manipulate all forms of matter.

Abilities
An expert mechanic since his teens, Johnny was able to totally overhaul a car's transmission by the age of 15. Johnny also has experience as a professional race car driver.

Paraphernalia
Johnny wears clothing made of unstable molecules which will not burn when he activates his flame powers.

Emerging from the fires, he exits the burning building. "I nearly forgot this laboratory was near the Baxter Building... Small world I suppose" he says noticing the Human Torch. He approaches the Johnny Storm closer using his lower two tentacles to walk. "Unless you want the innocent and incompetant scientists inside to burn alive, I suggest you leave me at once and go to their rescue..." he says as he points inside the burning door using his upper right tentacle.

The innocent crowds outside the building at the corner of 34th street and Pole street had no idea of the science experiment going on inside. Within an instant, a large explosion destroys the lower part of the building and the crowds begin to run opposite directions in mass panic. Fire begins to engulf the area as some people in laboratory coats run out yelling that there are still some people inside. During this time, some people freeze and listen closer as they hear a loud stomping sound every 3 seconds coming from within the building. A dark figure begins to emerge from the fires inside the building, revealing that it was none other than Doctor Octopus! "Such incompetance(ms?)!" he yells in anger...
