@Loveless: But this was done 2 years ago! I don't know whne mythbusters did it, but you have to say that the way they did it it was way cool. It was done in Maine y'know. My Gran lives there and she heard them on the radio. When they filmed it was actually the first time they did it for real. They had lots of practice, but they didn't actually have enough money to do it with the mentos and coke more than once. So they had no idea how it'd turn out! But it ended up really cool.

And who cares which way is the "right" way. This was is cool too and it's the way that worked for what they wanted to do. I've seen the other way too and this is way cooler if only because they took it to the extereme.

Eh. Ever since the Mythbusters did this that's been common knowledge.

And, those guys don't do it right. The way that most people play with diet coke and mentos is to create little mini bombs with it. What you do is take the pop and then shove the mentos in, cap it real quick, and slam it onto the ground cap first. And then it rockets into the air.

And that's what they're made for. lol

@Indigo: No. I doubt it. See, the explosion is caused by abnormalities on the surface of the mentos and how they mix with the fizz of the diet coke. So if you chew the mentos you don't get that effect anymore. Is it really sad that I know this? Yes. Yes it is.
