But I don't understand what isn't me writing.
Like this as an example of writing:
Martin Luther King, Jr. was a man of bravery and compassion. As a determined leader of change, he often confronted the negative viewpoints of the time of racism.

But then the teacher would be like this:
Martin Luther King, Jr. was a leader against segregation, and loyal to his cause. A leader against racism, he confronted the stereotypical behaviors of the people whose opinions conflicted with his theories.

Doesn't that sound entirely not like me at all?

Wow, that's cool.
No, our schools are like this:
Bring your book to class.
Pass up your homework.
Sit and listen to the teacher talk half the class.
Teacher assigns homework.
Teacher discusses what you'll do.
Then you go to your next class to do the same thing in there.

We didn't do class sessions in school.
Just the teachers explain how it's done, then you do your story reading and your spelling, then write in your grammar books and go to your other classes.

I always get D and F on my essays.
Seems I spent all my time actually fixing them over and over again until the teachers decided to slap me a C or a B just to get me out of their hair, instead of really learning anything.

That's cool.
When I went to elementary school we learned "what's the three nouns?" (Person, place and thing)
Then it was "Sally walked to the bus stop, James ate his lunch" blah blah blah.
Then I moved out of state and it was "What's a pronoun? What's an adjective?" which my old school wasn't teaching yet.
So when I went back to the old elementary school it was "Okay, everyone knows their pronouns and adjectives, let's start on adverbs too"
Then in middle school it was "Okay, you're going to do all that, plus prepositional phrases"
Then in high school it was "Okay, you're going to do all that - plus this: Now there are four nouns: Person, Place, Thing, and Idea"
So that's why I failed all of my English classes in two seconds.
But when I went to college they were like, "Oh, wow you really know your English, so you're going into Advanced English courses - Of course they're higher than high school, so you'll do just fine".
Yeah right.
I failed within the first few weeks, and the teacher was stumped because I didn't know my nouns, pronouns, adjectives or anything.
I still don't know paragraphing, topic outlining, doing an essay, never was taught in school how to make a story.
Only once did we ever have a school project in middle school to make a story, so the teacher assumed I was 'all-knowing'.
So I wrote one whole paper front and back, so she screeched when my grammar wasn't right, and that it wasn't the right format or whatever.
I tried reading books and trying to write like them, but it never worked, so.
That's why I like to write it all spread out, since I kind of borrowed Shakespeare's style.

I'm pretty good at spelling; it's just I don't know all the "pronouns, adverbs, adjectives" and stuff are.
Also, that I don't know how to use paragraphs or topics when making subjects.

Well, it's not that people are evil.
It's just that I wasn't really in school much to learn about paragraphing and proper grammar.
I didn't learn what a paragraph was until high school.
Though I still can't make a consistent one that doesn't skip topics.
Not to mention, I'm not very good at handling "constructive criticism".
