Change it back! Change it back! *RAGE!*

When I saw the paged tabs in the main Inventory view, I thought it was a great idea. But it's totally inappropriate for the Equip screen. I wonder if Gaia's recent backend changes also fixed the issue that some people were experiencing with having too many items in their inventory for Gaia to process it, so the script just dies and gives them a blank page?

I am absolutely not shrinking my inventory on Gaia's whim. I'll just use Tektek's your-items-only avatar creator more often. Speaking of which, you're no longer banned from Tektek, I hope?

Well, being sick does help me concentrate, but I don't think it's healthy to learn something new under an illness' negative experiential influence. You might develop a distaste for what you are learning.

Nothing shows you possibilities like reading through the W3C's specifications for upcoming neat stuff for CSS3 (most of which doesn't work in any current-generation browsers)! I guess it doesn't give you ideas, but it certainly tells you what's coming so you can make pages that'll suddenly be ZOMG-WOW! one day when your site's visitors upgrade to a newer browser. Each tab requiring a form submission? Each tab divided into multiple pages that each require a form submission? That seems excessive. User Image

Funny thing is that I was telling a friend just a while ago why I don't like AJAX. But I'm missing it already in Gaia's equipment screen. Maybe it's not a bad thing that developers don't usually take me seriously.

How do I teach CSS? ^^; Feel free of View Source my page? Honestly, I must have updated my profile a couple of hundred times since I started Thursday night. Trial and error! ... Really. There's no trick to it unless you consider Ctrl+Z and a calculator a trick. User Image

Oh, speaking of the profile, I have MAD GIMP SKILLZ now! That plant you see in the background used to be huge, screen-covering. I shrank just the plant without shrinking the rest of the background. ^_^ I was looking up Photoshop tutorials yesterday, but got depressed by all the stuff Photoshop could do that Gimp could not, so I experimented a bit (lot) and found the close brush!

Er, anyway, with AT on my mind, I doubt I could come up with any themes for a different profile design. User Image

It's really nice that you know how to draw original artwork instead of having to borrow this and modify that. ^_^ I wish I could draw something original...

But if there's any CSS magic you'd like to try, I'd be more than happy to help you with that! User Image

Ar tonelico was released in the U.S. last year, and was extremely rare until the company started selling reprints recently. A friend lent me her copy, or I might have spent over $100 for it on eBay. ^^; This is also the game I got a PS2 for because I couldn't stand the idea of never having seen it. User Image

Ar tonelico II is the game I'm waiting on. NIS America has left like a million hints that they're working on it, but they won't directly confirm or deny it. >.<

It's Hymmnos, a fictional language invented for the Ar tonelico game series, which featuers the most beautiful music ever. User Image

I'm currently completely obsessed with this series, its music, its characters, and everything else about it. User Image

So, I tried it on mom's computer, which is a very old computer that runs Vista very~ slowly. User Image

IE7's performance is indeed frightening. Even just switching to another window, then switching back, caused a slow repaint... I think it may have something to do with the way IE handles tiling of translucent PNGs. The translucent backgrounds in each section are made of tiny, 5x5-pixel tiles. Let me try making them larger...

But the darkened patch near the top is still a mystery... It could be related to the margins and positions. And the comment bubbles should be translucent. And they should use image borders instead of lined borders, but CSS3 image-borders are too cutting edge and aren't supported by any browser I can run here, so there's no way to test them.

I took the cheat way out. ^_^ The avatar's actually still in the About section. Here's what I entered at the very start of the About section, to link and place your avatar somewhere on my profile:

Then there's a bit of CSS code that simply bumps your avatar image a little bit to the left, and tells the rest of the About section to occupy the space that your avatar would have occupied if I hadn't moved it:

Fitting 2 avatars into a Classic-style profile was a little trickier than I thought, but I think I came up with something that works really well. ^_^ Now, word bubbles... Working those in are going to be interesting. Fortunately, I don't have anything worth saying, so I don't have to worry about it. User Image
