Megan was born to a pure Elven family. Her father was to be on the throne of Xenos, the Elven village, as king in 7 years. She was to be his successor when she came of age. When Rachael became her adopted sister she gained a wonderful friend and loyal companion. But when she was only 7, her sister 8, an attack on the village chased them out into the wilderness; her father was killed that night by his brother who gained the throne from his death. Megan and Rachael wondered the wilderness and went from human town to human town, but nobody would have them because of what they were. They were even hunted and had narrowly avoided death on several occasions.
Travis and Connor were two rowdy boys who had taken it upon themselves to find the missing Elven villagers and return them to their rightful home. They were about to give up when they came across Megan and Rachael and watched them in secret where they lived for several months before deciphering they were who they thought they were. But the humans had been noticing the girls too and the four of them narrowly escaped being captured and killed.
Together for a month hiding in an old mansion on a cliffside the four grew to be close friends. Then Travis revealed to Megan a truth she had forgotten. Xenos was in trouble. Her uncle was destroying the place little by little and soon it would be in total chaos. She was the heir to the throne. She needed to return to Xenos, overthrow her uncle, and gain control of what was rightfully hers. But could she really do it? She decided to try.
With Rachael at her side, Megan entered the camp and fought her way through the military ranks. On her 16th birthday, Travis proposed to her and they were to be married in 6 months. But Megan’s bloodthirsty cousin Blake wouldn’t allow it. He wanted the throne and wanted Megan to die as she was supposed to 9 years ago. He arranged a battle on the day before Megan’s wedding to Travis (also Rachael’s wedding to Connor).
In the heat of the battle the two boys fell. Blake did not get to kill Megan or Rachael as planned but had done a very steep blow to them in taking away their loves.
Now a year later, Megan doesn’t mourn for her lost lover. Rachael is having a harder time letting go but is trying for her sister’s sake. Now the two sisters must kill Megan’s uncle, take the throne, bring Xenos from the brink of destruction, and avenge their loves deaths by killing Megan’s cousin and all that stand in their way; With no help, and no comfort, and within one year of Megan’s next birthday. With one year to plan, and one year to carry it out, can they save a nation?
