To answer your question in the thread, real person as in someone took a camera and took a picture of a living, breathing person.
And to get the icons, just save the picture, go to photobucket, upload it, click edit and then click resize to change it to 100 x 100. if it isn't exact then you may want to crop it until you have the same on both sides, say 400x400, then resize it.
