Pelagianism seemed pretty close to my beliefs... just a lot more extreme XD but yes, something along that line. Don't get me wrong, I think that all are have sinned, and will sin. However, I believe that there is obvious sins, and less obvious... the obvious sins are states clearly in the Gospels, and the less obvious are based on your heart. For an extreme example: murder is an obvious sin, celebrating halloween is less obvious... therefore if you celebrate halloween, and you're not feeling guilty, then you're not sinning. Obviously a celebration of Halloween isn't a sin, but this was just an extreme example.

Yeah. But, just some things seem a little extreme, I don't see why a church would require it... but, eh, it's understandable! ^^

Yeah. A lot of our past has sins that few would dare to do.

This is true. A lot of people just go about doing bad things, and regardless of their religious affiliation continue. But, as is said in Romans "God will judge men by the motives of their heart" so I think as long as we are trying to be good, and do sin, but don't recognize that we have sinned, then we haven't sinned... if this makes any sense. There might be a clear set of rules, but then there are the not so clear messages in the bible that cannot possibly be known... and that's when we do what appears to be right.

Ya know, I thought of something the other day that annoys me a lot. Degrees. I don't see how having a college degree could make someone more qualified as a leader of a church than another person... leaders of the church should be based on spiritual maturity, which I know there are ways that churches make sure that people with degrees get tested... but I don't find degrees necessary for being ordained... just a weird thing that came up while I was thinking the other day.

For me, it's been sort of a "listen to your heart" type of deal. We feel guilty after we do something wrong, and that's when we feel sin. Although some people don't feel guilty after doing things, this is a learned trait that some people have after repeatedly doing something sinful. I believe in something similar to what you believe, that through Jesus's parables and words we have an ultimate set of doctrines, and I believe that anything that might be controversial is a matter of listening to your heart. The other books are something that were directed at those cultures at the time, not to everyone.

Yeah... it's a pain in the neck. Don't get me wrong, I love the bible, and I believe it's a great tool, but as far as doctrines go... I say listen to your heart...
