Lulz ok well halo reach is the prequal to all the halo games where you play as Noble 6 the prototype to the Master Chief pretty much. Reach is the home world for all of the spartans and it was invaded by the covenent. In the story aka the books reach falls no matter what, the game does that too. But what was so important about reach to the covenent is that Cortana the AI from the first civilization that faught off the flood, was there. And with that power the humans were able to advance their technology and fight off the covenent through the other halo series. Pretty much thats it right there.
