Aww. You changed your avi!

Also, more of a news site than I'd really hoped for. I'm not sure about the bias here, so read it as you will.

Oh, I didn't know you did art work! I suck at anything remotely artistic, so I'm already envious.

Oh, by the way, here is an amusing video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaGgpGLxLQw

Things in Beijing were really expensive, so I didn't get anything. I'm looking for some interesting picture to put on your wall. I found some, but it was too expensive. I'll wait until I find something similar that students are selling. Professional artists always think they can rob the unsuspecting. Students, however, beg for their stuff to be sold, so they always sell cheaper, but it is still great quality. ^_^

Since I'll be heading to Beijing, I'll look around for something that screams "DQ" at me. xD I thought of ice cream when I read that.

OK, I'm leaving in a while, so I should eat breakfast.

Heheh. I keep forgetting that the rest of you have finals. I can't wait until I have to be in class again. Right now it is all self motivation. Sometimes there is more of it than other times, but not often.

Let me know if you want anything for your flat from China. They have some really interesting things here, but I have to search for good things that aren't clothes or food. I'm not one for shopping, so I just stumble across them. I'd post pictures of the stuff, but it is for my mum for her birthday. >_> However, it is basically two fishies made out of knotted cord. They are kissing. It is cute! I'll post pictures after I send it to her so it doesn't spoil the surprise.

Wow. That sounds really convoluted from this side. It is almost like they aren't concerned about it too much in this area. I mean, they are worried that the Olympics won't happen. When someone asks me if I'm going to them, I can almost hear the latent question of "Do you support Tibet?". Of course, I don't lie. I say, "No, I'm not that big into sports or huge crowds. Besides, it is my first time to travel a country I've desperately wanted to see most of my life. This is the perfect time to travel since most people will be in Beijing." Well, it is the truth. =D

I'm still looking into matters here too, when I have time. Lately, we've been working hard to help a friend, get work done for the school, and do our thesis stuff for when we finally get to grad school. It seems to have my interest far more than the political things going on. Then again, I *do* have to go to Tibet sometime for my studies...

OK, so it is a bigger deal in some places than it is in others. Probably where ever they have larger percentage of Tibetans or Buddhists, as well as have people that have time to care.

I was told by a prof at the campus that outsiders just don't understand the situation. From what I've been able to get, it seems like they don't understand it much either. China won't let them. The history of this conflict seems to go back a lot longer than just the last few months, or even since the Dalai Lama went into exile in 1959.

Making matters even more interesting are conspiracy theories about the Dalai Lama getting bribed by the CIA in the US to help the Tibetan independence cause. o.O

Heh. I would likely find the stuff that I loved thrown together to be so expensive I would give up within a few days of questing/randomly posting, etc. God knows I'm far too lazy to actually sign in every day and become OCD about it.

Oh, by the way, I'm needing some information about what is going on with the Olympics and all the jazz with China. It is supposed to be a major thing around here, as well as a huge statement. Apparently many countries are withdrawing from the Olympics in order to show Tibet their support. However, this is just what we've heard from the locals. I need information!!!
