DI Vega is a man whose sins are about to find him out, and he knows it. He is anticipating the expiration of his legitimate life when a young boy is murdered in disturbingly similar circumstances to another child eight years previously, a case Vega helped solve, or so he’d assumed. Just as he is preparing to bow out he finds himself desperate for one final act, and if this is his last investigation then he wants to see it through to its grisly conclusion. If only his own crimes would stay buried a little longer…
