I'm still working my way through it. I like the game so far, but I agree with you on some of the frustrating gameplay elements. I think they rushed it a bit TOO much, as my frame-rate drops if I try and do anything remotely complicated. Also, YES. The chase scenes have really gotten on my nerves.

You forgot the red sash. That's an important clothing symbol for the would-be Assassin. Together, the white and red symbolize purity and blood, respectively. It's been said that the Knights Templar took their ideas and ranking systems from the Assassins, and actually worked together in history at certain points, as well as being enemies at other points. The Knights Templar wear white and red too. Coincidence? I THINK NOT.

No problem. I just try and pay attention to launch days. From personal experience I've found you make the most at launch or waay after if certain items decide to inflate.
